David Benavidez vs Demetrius Andrade - A CLOSER LOOK (4K)

David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade are finalizing a deal for a super middleweight fight this fall in Las Vegas.
The battle of former champions will be a pay-per-view event, sources said.
Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) scored a career-best win in March, a unanimous-decision victory over Caleb Plant. The 26-year-old, who fights out of Seattle, is ESPN's No. 2 super middleweight after undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez.
Benavidez is a two-time former super middleweight champion; he lost his belt outside the ring on both occasions (positive test for cocaine before he later missed weight).
The volume puncher, known as "The Mexican Monster," is hoping for a showdown with Alvarez next year. But first, Benavidez will face a slick boxer for the second consecutive fight when he meets Andrade.
A former champion at 154 and 160 pounds, Andrade (32-0, 19 KOs) will finally land the big fight he's sought at age 35. Long avoided for his defensive prowess and boxing skills, Andrade moved up to 168 pounds in January with a shutout decision win over journeyman Demond Nicholson.

Demetrius didn’t look outstanding in his last fight but if he implements a stick and move style while utilizing his feet and counter punching technique, he can also win. David is most effective when he starts to walk you down to the point that you have to exchange. If Andrade attempts to go toe to toe with David, he might get clipped but he ain’t winning those exchanges. Demetrius does have a good length in his game and if he watches the Crawford and Jose fight and studies on how Crawford used his lateral movements on a linear Jose Benavidez, that can be a huge help.

Andrade gives flat performances even against lower tier opposition that an elite fighter would make easy work of. Offensively he's a limited fighter and tends to wing shots with his hands low while also showing poor balance. The guy looked sloppy the second half and was badly staggered by small face first gatekeeper Liam Williams and got dropped and taken the distance by a random journeyman in his only fight at 168. He's never fought a champ period.

Andrade is a 35 year old prospect and I see him getting wrecked like Plant. I truly believe Plant is a harder fight overall with more experience. Andrade has yet to fight a world champion so this would be the first time EVER! Canelo 3 fight PBC deal is getting narrow: charlos, Benavidez, Andrade and Morrell. Can’t see Errol fighting after getting stopped by Bud. And Benavidez and Andrade will kick eachother out depending on who wins I would assume.

Andrade has no time to waste. He’s old now and needs to go out there and knock Benavidez out. Benavidez has to just show up and wait for Andrade because he is the draw and has more to lose in this fight as Andrade has so so much to gain.
