Since Bowie is retired from touring I do hope he will participate in music videos for song promotion, and to let us know he's still looking good and healthy - I can understand when its time to quit touring, thing to do is STOP. Keep writing, keep putting out the songs, that is the important thing.

It's happy but also sad to see Davy getting the award. Yes, as a big fan of him, I'm very happy that Davy can get the recognition he deserves. But isn't it ridiculous that an old man can outrun all young men in leading the "music trend"? Looking at other nominees, I was like... "WTF?" They are young enough to be Davy's grandsons, but still Davy is the most trendy, stylish and energetic nominee among all. Best evidence to the decline, if not the death, of British culture!

He never comes to award ceremonies. He was offered the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2000, which he declined and then in 2003 he was offered the knighthood and again declined saying “I would never have any intention of accepting anything like that. It’s not what I spent my life working for.” The French government managed to award him with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, both Commander and Knight, and the only reason they were able to do that was because they stuffed the awards into an envelope and mailed them to him, because once again he declined to participate in a ceremony and said that they should better give the awards to somebody else.
