It wasn't as meaningful or intimate of a conversation between David Bowie and the interviewer as I would have liked, and I'm sure as David Bowie would have hoped for, because of the language barrier obviously, but he was still very kind and accommodating. Love that smile and small laugh he gave when the interviewer asked, "Do you understand me?" at 1:59 :)

C'est marrant, je pense exactement le contraire concernant le professionnalisme de Drucker dans cette interview: Il pose des questions qui n'en sont pas, avec les réponses dedans. Le sujet des simili questions est inintéressant. il 'y a pas de fluidité dans l'interview et l'instant choisis pour traduire est mauvais. Mais le pire, c'est le niveau en Anglais de Drucker qui fait énormément d'erreurs de traduction, sans parler de son accent... David Bowie c'est la classe, Drucker il ferait mieux d'y retourner.

I would love the find the french TV clip (probably TF1 station) with Patrick Sabatier. Sabatier was a Terry Wogan like star in France and he had a long interview with David Bowie. Sabatier did not (I think) understand a word of English so the interview was being translated simultaneously. At the end Sabatier asks David whether he knew him on forehand. Bowie ( maybe he misunderstood) shook a very enthusiastic YESSS. on which Sabatier admitted that until that day he had never heard of David Bowie.

C'est sûrement pour ça que Bowie était rare en interview. Si c'est pour sortir des banalités. Je penses qu'il avait mieux à faire, en effet. Désolé de dire que Druker si c'est lui qui a préparé ses questions, démontre ici son aspect Mr tout le monde. En tout cas il connaît très peu Bowie et son oeuvre et ça se voit. Alors que comme il le rapelle si bien il avait déjà 11 ans de carrière derrière lui. On est à la limite de parler de la pluie et du beau temps. Et puis on apprend rien surtout. Et ça c'est gênant. Je penses qu'il a du apprendre de cette erreur. Notamment à ne pas se charger des traductions.

Il n'a pas les yeux vairons. En fait pour la petite histoire, sa pupille gauche est constamment dilatée depuis une bagarre pendant son adolescence durant laquelle il a failli perdre son oeil !😊
