+Cynthia Smith This will probably sound like I'm rambling. I grew up in the 70s and 80s listening to hard rock (my favorite band is AC/DC). I roller-skated to David Bowie back in the day. I played some of his songs later in a band I played with (Rebel Rebel, mostly). He was one of the musical geniuses I liked but I took for granted growing up. Now he's gone. Now Glenn Frey is gone. Now Lemmy is gone. Now, my favorite thing on the planet is the internet and KZbin so I can watch all of these legend's musical performances. David, you were amazing. Thank you for all of the great memories.

In this live performance of "Hello spaceboy " David Bowie has such a raw sexuality that it's rock porn, foo fighters David G adding to it on drums, 3 drummers in sync pounding away and 2 bass guitarists (the great gad)and a Reeves on piano but it's Bowie hypnotizing us with his powerful voice and his eyes possessing your soul.....In other words that mic stand had rest and a cigarette afterwards and oh my, I wanted to be the mic stand after seeing this and at 1 point I think, yes please!!(yes David was a happily married man) but at 50, the way he moves and looks so gorgeous and devilish in this, the sexual energy from him, the band(esp DG)and the audience could of powered London for a week. I've been a Bowie fan since '75 when I was 11 and now can't believe it's 5yrs since....but In this he is so alive and spellbinding...he's not gone.... Bye bye Spaceboy ....you want to be free.... to go back to your planet....Bye bye love...

David Bowie arrived 1/8/1947 - BlackStar arrived 1/10/2016 Isn't it strange that when there is someone you've never met before passes, you can still feel such a loss. ….Even though we never met, David stayed up with me many a lonely night over the last 45 years - making my bad days better - my nights brighter, all while making me a better musician. ...What a talent. - What a career. - What a loss. - What a soul and thank you for sharing it and thanks for touching mine. -J.D.Gragg - - - We all know the footprint on the Moon - now we know there is one on Mars, David Bowie's. ps; The bass player he adorded and I am having trouble of thinking of any other he ever had - in short - she rages!

How did I just find this? What really intrigues me is this was from William Goldsmith era, so Foo Fighters weren’t even that well known when this happened. One thing I admire about both Grohl and Bowie is their open passion for their musical peers no matter how big or small.

Brian Eno worked with Bowie on albums including his legendary Berlin Trilogy in the mid-1970s. He has issued a statement paying tribute to his friend: "David's death came as a complete surprise, as did nearly everything else about him. I feel a huge gap now. "We knew each other for over 40 years, in a friendship that was always tinged by echoes of Pete and Dud. Over the last few years - with him living in New York and me in London - our connection was by email. We signed off with invented names: some of his were mr showbiz, milton keynes, rhoda borrocks and the duke of ear. "About a year ago we started talking about Outside - the last album we worked on together. We both liked that album a lot and felt that it had fallen through the cracks. We talked about revisiting it, taking it somewhere new. I was looking forward to that. "I received an email from him seven days ago. It was as funny as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did. It ended with this sentence: 'Thank you for our good times, brian. they will never rot'. And it was signed 'Dawn'. "I realise now he was saying goodbye."
