About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Yes, this is such a great performance, at once general and intimate. And that ending - perfect! it really shows the bond he had built with his audience.

This song really brings out the actor in him. He was always able to convey the emotion of a song, even those he didn’t write. This is maybe my favourite live performance by him. It’s captivating.

I was fortunate to see Bowie in concert in the late 70s. I remember the ticket price was $14.75. A concert I will never forget. ✌️❤️

One of the things in my life that I am thankful for is David Bowie. I was in my mid teens when I became a Bowie fan and 50 years later still listen to his music. The videos are a huge bonus when listening to him. Such an incredible, talented and awesome human. ❤

Yes, I was a bowie fan in the 70s++, but he never flinched from the human condition. Angel or devil - he don't care. He faced his demise.

I was a teen in the 80s so had to discover his previous work, I'd stand at the album section for ages, flipping through them all and wondering which to buy as they were all £4.49. I decided to go in chronological order, which ended up giving me the same journey as those of you lucky enough to have been born a decade earlier than me, but in a more concentrated time span. The way he could change directions from one style to another between albums was something I don't think anyone has done, or done so completely and perfectly. By rights, we should all be scratching our heads and saying "eh? You what? " as he took us from Diamond Dogs to Young Americans, but it was Bowie, and it worked and it was delicious and I couldn't get enough. He definitely got me through some tough times. A true artist, he was brimming with creativity.

Originally Sang in 1967 by Scott Walker (So even more Amazing), Like "Amsterdam", another of Bowie's covers. Both Bowie's versions are unparalleled of course. But the lyricist is Jacques Brel for both songs, a magician in music.

My death waits like an old rou? So confident I'll go his way Whistle to him and the passing time My death waits like a bible truth At the funeral of my youth Weep loud for that and the passing time My death waits like a witch at night As surely as our love is bright Let's not think about the passing time But what ever lies behind the door There is nothing much to do Angel or devil, I don't care For in front of that door, there is you My death waits like a beggar blind Who sees the world through an unlit mind Throw him a dime for the passing time My death waits there between your thighs Your cool fingers will close my eyes Let's not think of that and the passing time My death waits to allow my friends A few good times before it ends So let's drink to that and the passing time But what ever lies behind the door There is nothing much to do Angel or devil, I don't care For in front of that door, there is you My death waits there among the leaves In magicians' mysterious sleeves Rabbits and dogs and the passing time My death waits there among the flowers Where the blackest shadow, blackest shadow cowers Let's pick lilacs for the passing time My death waits there in a double bed Sails of oblivion at my head So pull up the sheets against the passing time But what ever lies behind the door There is nothing much to do Angel or devil, I don't care For in front of that door, there is you

Just thoughts that appeared while watching both screenings of Ziggy's return👩🏼‍🎤🖤 The long awaited night, Ziggy arrives and alongside the spiders they rise to the sky once more and in glorious quality The green light calls from above, Ziggy comes, and goes, will it be as professed? It's more, much more, there he is, gigantic and vivid, the sensual, moonlight skin, redhead god(-dess), his celestial hand reaching down, one could almost grab him and leave, a hero to run away with, the all possible saviour, it just felt that way, it felt as though he could do anything, an alien force from beyond that makes you believe in impossibilities, his presence so tangible, all the hope of the young, the voice of youth, he was, now we are the dudes, for how long?, a second, the memories of our youth, they'll all be squashed in time, yet now we are mixed on our seats and on the screen with the flood of faces, pretty faces, beautiful faces, body and soul, wild and young, those millions, still few, all yearning, all crying, all adept, all devoted to their saviour that gave them a new hope even if just for one more day, that's all that's needed, your healing chant synchronizing all the chaos of words inside the mind now turned to notes, just turn on with him and let the stream of thought flow, let his music sort out those low thoughts, for this cure to reach your core and fill your heart with hope, like Jesus through the screen, giving a sensory overload from which you wanted an intermission and yet for it to also last forever, just you and Ziggy in the loud darkness, the cheeks aflame, the smiling didn't stop throughout it all, and wanting to rewind time suddenly transmission ended, gone, far away outside this galaxy, hopefully the nebula approaches awaiting to return once more some day, oh David, wonder if you ever knew, a being without time, your death weights, yet the echoes of your life are still sounding strong and helping others, thank you, we lost you, though you're always really free, really you and hard for us to really be, are we in the best selling show? you only know, there is hope, now we will seek our own words Ziggy, words of strength and care, and sympathy, there are things worth living, a million dreams even if to reach them there are a million scars, just imagine, what could be nicer, and, after Ziggy's visit, we walked back to the road, changed
