Took me around ten years (very slow process) to restore my 1967 David Brown Selectamatic 880. At the beginning, it was the tractor I wanted. Many souvenirs related to it (I'm 58 YO). But if I had to do it again, I would start with the 885. Mainly because of three things : Power steering, 12 speeds semi synchro and the possibility of installing a nice and reliable front loader on it. Next one will be the a 885. If I can find one in a not so bad shape to begin with...

just boght one today, in much worse condiion than yours (most of cab missing) but still runs
