I grew up in Beverly Hills and knew them all. Shirley was just the best. Always thought their dad Jack Cassidy was underrated as an actor, he always played such debonair roles! Patrick was QB at Beverly Hills High and I have always loved his smile🌸 Multi-talented family! 🌸 Also, LOVE this song, first time hearing it🌸🌸

Shaun looks like his mom Shirley, Patrick and Ryan look just like Jack, especially when they smile when can really see Jack Cassidy in them! Jack Cassidy was a very nice looking man, and Shirley has always been so very pretty!

It was too bad that he was as bald as a cue ball though, the father , that is and was reduced to wearing that crazy rug on his head for most of his adult life. Jack Cassidy was a big drinker and even more disturbingly - a raging fairy behind the scenes who devoured manmeat like there was no tomorrow. Sad but true. He would eventually, set his living quarters ablaze during one of his many bouts with the bottle which not only brought an ignominious end to his waning career but to his life. In some ways his son David followed in 'the old man's' footsteps. An inveterate drunk he remained in denial pretty much up until the very end regarding his depth of despair and ongoing dependence on the bottle to deal with his "issues" _even_ going so far - in what turned out to be his final days - as to falsely proclaim that he'd been diagnosed with some form of early stage dementia, the intent being, of course, to provide a convenient alibi for his feigned forgetfulness, frequent insensitivity, and in many instances, downright insane behavior. He drank himself into one last prolonged stupor; his body eventually and mercifully succumbing to the ravages wrought through decades of abuse.

David's mother was the lovely & talented Evelyn Ward. David did not live with Shirley & Jack like the other 3 Cassidy boys did.

David's Biological Mother, was so upset when David told her, he had good news and some of it may upset her. He told her he got the part on the Partridge Family. Which She was so excited for him. Then as he broke the news Shirley was playing the part of the Mother. David's Biological Mother got so upset. She was also concerned the news would introduce David and Shirley as Mother and Son. David promised his Mother, he wouldn't allow that to happen. David's Mother was so upset, She thought that David would call Shirley Mom off the show. That was another promise David made to her and kept it. David had a talk with Shirley about his Mother's feelings. Shirley was very understanding, and did her very best to make sure, whenever she was being interviewed, and they brought up her Son's. She would always remind them that David was her Stepson. And that David got along really well with his Brother's. There was one interview with a Woman. During her talk with Shirley, She asked her, how did She raise 4 Sons to grow up to be so respectful and for the most part stay out of trouble while growing up in Hollywood? Shirley immediately said, well David's my Stepson. The interviewer interrupted Shirley and said, We know. But you spent a lot of time with David. Shirley replied, yes, but David's Biological Mother gets upset, when She sees or hears of an interview and they mention David is my Son. So out of respect for her and David, I correct the media. Shirley would say by them being on the Partridge Family, her and David, really got to know each other a lot better. We have a lot of respect for each other. And he gets along with his Brother's great. She went on to say how proud She is of David. The only reason She would correct anyone who introduced David as one of her Son's, was She didn't want to make things harder with David and his Mother. David idolized his Mother, and had a great deal of respect for his Mother. You could tell on the Partridge Family how much David did end up respecting Shirley, and even loving her as a Mother. After David's Biological Mother passed, David did become closer with Shirley. When they did "This is Your Life" with Shirley and Jack Jones was also there with her. When they started to introduce their Sons, they introduced David first, as a Son from a previous marriage then went on to introduce Shaun, Patrick and Ryan. Then they introduced the stars who played Shirley's Children on the Partridge Family. Shirley did another interview about 6 years ago. During that interview, She stated Jack Cassidy is the love of her life. She then said Arnie who has been Shirley's 2nd Husband since shortly after Jack Cassidy passed away in a horrible apt. fire. During the time She was talking about her time with Jack, She stated that Jack wasn't really there for David or Shaun, and when she had Patrick he was started to do things with the boys, more so with Patrick and Ryan. You can tell Shirley and especially Shaun and Patrick and Ryan feel the pain of losing David. Shirley and David did build a special bond, while at the same time, David keeping his promise to his Biological Mother. Shirley and Shaun, Patrick, Ryan and David's Daughter and Son and Danny were all with David during his final months. David left his catalog of songs, that he wrote to his Brother's. I feel that if David's Biological Mother wasn't so hurt for what Jack Cassidy did, with his cheating with the various Woman. And then filed for Divorce after he met Shirley, and then quickly marrying her. David's Mother might of been able to handle the relationship between Shirley and David. If it wasn't for the promise David made to his Biological Mother and the talk he had with Shirley. About not wanting to hurt or disrespect his Mother. Shirley probably would never correct anyone who referred to David as her Son. Look for the Eulogy that Shaun did in remembrance of David. He did it at the beginning of a show, he was doing at a Resort on 2/14/20. You can hear it and see how much Shaun is missing David. And how much David meant to him and the rest of their Family.
