David Cassidy - Thin Ice

Help! I am 51 years old and totally obsessed with David Cassidy!! When he was in the Partridge Family I was very young and can't really remember him although my mum says that I used to enjoy watching it. At around the age of 12 I bought a second hand copy of an early 70's Jackie annual with a picture of David Cassidy in it and I can remember thinking how beautiful he was. When The Last Kiss came out in the 80's I remember watching him on Wogan and commenting to my mum that he was still gorgeous. But I was into rock music and although I liked that single I didn't check out his other music. When he passed away I was sad and put a picture of him on my Facebook page, but didn't dwell on it too much. Towards the end of last year I turned the TV on on a Friday night and stumbled across a documentary about someone recording an album. I had no clue who it was or what it was all about but I started watching. I gradually realized that it was David Cassidy and couldn't really believe what I was seeing. I had no idea he had dementia so was very shocked at how he was. It was then revealed that he had to go to hospital and that he was actually an alcoholic. I was gobsmacked and also devastated. I started looking him up on the internet and watching KZbin vids, I bought his autobiography and actually began to be rather obsessed. I just couldn't get over the fact that someone so beautiful could die so tragically. I listen regularly to his music now on Spotify and am so glad that I found it. I love his songs and his voice. He is so expressive. Of course he is also gorgeous. I am so sad that he so obviously never got over the way his dad treated him, and actually his mum was not really the best either. He did have a lot of hang-ups that stemmed from his childhood. It is sad too that his talent wasn't appreciated more. Why are his songs never played on the radio? Thankfully he has so many loyal fans who have followed him for many years and who will keep his music alive for many more years to come. RIP David - you are a beautiful soul xx

Well, it's been almost 14 months since we all lost our sweet, sexy David. Like a lot of you all, I also am still listening to David on CD in my house, my car, have it playing on my cell phone with ear plugs in my ears when I am shopping....anywhere that I can listen to his sweet, breathy, and awesome voice, I do!! I am watching reruns of reruns of reruns of the Partridge Family, even though I have watched every episode a dozen times (or more) BEFORE he passed away. All this time as passed, and I STILL can't get enough of him. I am 56years old, but listening to/seeing him makes me feel like a pre-teen/teenager again. I got a puppy this year, and named her Cassidy, after David. For Christmas last month I got a signed 8 X 10 glossy picture of our David when he was in his late 50's to early 60's. He was in a white shirt with black pants and was sitting with his red base guitar (the one that he said was going to go to Beau when he passed away) leaning against his legs. Also got the red covered book of his...Fear & Loathing on the Partridge Family bus. His other book I got for Christmas the month after he had passed away. Oh David.......love & miss you SO, SO much!!!!

My gorgeous daughter bought me A Touch of Blue CD for Christmas which i previously had trouble finding,a David Cassidy mug,a David Cassidy tribute t shirt and his book! I am unable to watch The Partridge Family on TV as i live in the UK,but i watch some episodes on here. xx

I just discovered all these gems. One of the best songs if not the best in "Romance". His vocals are powerful and he co-wrote the song! After decades, I have come back and I realize now how incredibly talented he truly is. At 12, I never looked beyond his hot self and just sang along to every song, but now I can objectively analyze his true talents, and I am very very impressed. What a talent!

True. I had a similar experience of rediscovering him and his real talent beyond just his pretty face ( and he was seriously pretty ! ) and his teen idol status. I just remember him when I was still very young, maybe about 7 or 8 watching him on the Partridge Family. He was just the long haired guy that sang some catchy songs. Now I listen back to his songs and realize they're pretty good, and his delivery of them is great ! Not to mention his beautiful smooth voice, and the fact that he wrote or cowrote some of them, and played instruments as well. He was definitely talented and more than just a pretty face ! Love his songs, his voice and his look ! Forever a DC fan.

I feel the same way. He still does it for me and I am 62 years old. I think there was something special about David, that we women and girls could feel. How do you explain the girls and women who swooned over Elvis? There are special people and we feel their auras. I have noticed in some pictures you can see David's aura. It was purple. That is highly rare and would give him a high energy level. Fans can connect with it and it turned them on. I know I felt it. It is so sad these special ones burn their candles fast and die young. I am glad David is at peace now. I heard from these mediums' videos that David's parents both met him when he crossed over. That means his father has healed in Heaven. Let's hope he can have the relationship he wanted with his dad now. I will pray for them. Love, Diane

I have no idea, but me too love all (almost) his clothes, shirts, tshirts, jackets etc! I think either he had a really good stylist back then, that got his hair better and better (always looking good, but got even greater at season 2/3 in the PF) and his jeans got tighter:) and perfectly fitted. Or he had phenomenal taste himself, as he did have such cool outfits (never overdone, just coool) also more privately, off stage or when in PF. Always in the right colors that brought out the best of him and his georgeous eyes! But now again, he couldnt look bad if he so wore a curtain..
