David Chipperfield's James Simon Gallery Berlin

On Museum Island in Berlin, David Chipperfield designed the James Simon Gallery that opened in 2019.
The gallery receives visitors and provides orientation to exhibits while including an auditorium, temporary exhibition space, a shop, and a cafe. The building connects directly to the Pergamon and the Neues Museum. A stair connects the elevated level with the street. Thin white concrete columns form a colonnade and the stone facade reinforces the canal edge.
