David Ciente - ROots (Official Music Video)

In the heart of Romania, you can still find places where time seems to have stalled and where people continue living the lives of their ancestors.
This video features a rare find. It was shot near Sălciua, Romania, showing men and oxen carrying hay from the haystack to the barn, using their antique wooden-wheeled oxcart. This was a common activity in our ancestors' routine, but now, it is no more than just a dying tradition. It is a sheer display of ancient masculine power, but in the same time, a good example of the vital partnership between humans and animals throughout history.
Thanks to our friends, Ionel-Radu Butură and Ioan Andrei Praja, this activity is a step further from being completely forgotten. They were happy to let us use the footage we shot of them working.
This video is dedicated to all the hardworking people who were here before us, and whose lives were never easier than the lives we are capable of having today.

În inima României, înca poți găsi locuri unde timpul pare să fi rămas în loc, și oameni care încă trăiesc viețile strămoșilor.
Acest video arată ceva rar. Totul a fost filmat lângă localitatea Sălciua, România, portretizând bărbați și boi cărând fân de la căpiță până în "podu' șurii" folosind carul lor cu roți din lemn. Aceasta era o activitate comună în viața strămoșilor noștri, dar acum, nu mai este nimic altceva decât o tradiție pe cale de dispariție. Este o pură reprezentare de forță masculină antică, dar în același timp, a unui bun exemplu al parteneriatului vital între oameni și animale de-a lungul istoriei.
Mulțumită prietenilor noștri Ionel-Radu Butură și lui Ioan Andrei Praja, această îndeletnicire este cu un pas mai departe de a fi complet uitată. Au fost bucuroși să ne lase să folosim cadrele filmate cu ei lucrând, pentru a promova România și frumusețile ei.
Acest video este dedicat tuturor oamenilor muncitori care au fost aici inaintea noastră și ale căror vieți nu au fost niciodată mai ușoare decât viețile pe care le putem duce noi astăzi.
