I've had the luck of seeing him in concert 3 times and got to even meet him after his college tours about 12yrs ago he was at the WVU College and after I saw him just talking to fans out by his bus so I walked right over and by the time this concert happened i was a month from having my now 11yr old daughter but I wasn't pregnant when I bought the tickets but I wasn't going to miss it.....he even rubbed my big fat pregnant belly, my daughter loves telling people that technically she was at that concert with me!

No one loves David Cook, the man and his music more than I do. I love the new song and the imagery in the video is excellent. It captures the personification of anxiety perfectly. But one thing is missing for me. In that last scene when he stands between the mountaintops I would have liked the image flicker or dissolve and see the real David standing there as on stage. He needs to own it. It is after all A music video which is designed to highlight HIS music as much as a statement on anxiety. Everyone could still take away what they want from it, but he needs to stand in his truth, as Paula once said.

I think you’re missing the point here.Janine... from talking with David about the video he didn’t want to have this relate to just him... not just his anxiety issues. By not putting his face there you can walk away from this relating your own feelings to it, as many people who have anxiety have ( like me) add his face and it’s all about David Cook... exactly what he didn’t want. Just by opening up and discussing his anxiety and releasing the song he wrote as a therapeutic exercise for himself is standing in plenty of his own truth... and I give him kudos for that. it takes years for people to admit to it, This song got so many of us to open up and say ‘hey, that’s me too,’ That’s what needs to be taken away from this.

Janine Rudolph There are many videos out there where the artist is not in them whatsoever. The video has his name very plainly stated at the beginning. That (and his voice) should be enough to link it to him. He was referring to one of his favorite videos called Hellbent by Kenna as an inspiration point. Anyway art is subjective and not everyone is going to be happy with the end results or see it from the same perspective. 🤷🏼‍♀️
