I just finished this book this weekend and LOVED it! I laughed, I cried, I love so many of the characters. I too kept picking it up and even now want to pick it up and reread my favorite parts. Will likely reread every few years if not every year!

Thank you for this wonderful review! I was a bit intimidated by David Copperfield before, but you have dispelled my fears! I think this vlogging style of video works really well for long books - I'd love to see you do more of these!

I think it is such a wonderful book! The language is accessible (other than some vocab I had never come across before haha) and the story itself is wonderful. And thank you! I will try to make some more because they are fun for me too =)

Great video ❤. I like how down to earth and simple you are. I’ve never seen someone on booktuber actually buy a book in a state like that and not mind it. I personally love used books that are a bit damaged and annotated too. Greetings from Angola

Awww that makes me want to pick this book up next! Really enjoyed your vlog, you should do more reading vlogs. They are super fun! ❤ I read Oliver Twist in school and absolutely hated it but last year I decided to restart our relationship with Dickens and picked up Great Expectations which I absolutely loved and would highly recommend. And just recently I purchased Hard Times to read next. But now I might go with David 😂 What I find fascinating about Dickens is that like many writers in his time his works first appeared in newspapers chapter by chapter and authors were paid for amount of words written hence why the novels are chunky 😅 But unlike Dumas who would create redundant dialogue just to get that coin, in the world of Dickens there is not a single redundant sentence or comma, everything has its place and everything is used for that plot progression and/or character development

Thank you! I enjoy reading them so I am happy to head positive feedback =) I need to get my hands on a copy of Great Expectations then! I am curious how you would feel reading Oliver Twist again not in school. That is so true about Dickens! I don't feel like things were drawn out or repetitive just to get higher word count. It felt like a very intentional novel which I loved.

@@WellTraveledBooks i might consider re-reading Oliver Twist some time but for now I feel like it was a wrong place to start with dickens and he has more interesting books 🤔 I’ve already ordered David Copperfield in the nice Everyman’s library edition! Can’t wait!

As a Brit, I am supposed to like Dickens, sacrilege I know but I can't stand him. I think because the vast majority of his books appeared serialised in newspapers first, they seem rather long-winded to me. Anyway, I am pleased you enjoyed David Copperfield, and I have just noticed Masha has already mentioned the serialisation of his books. So apologies to Masha!

No pressure to ever like an author! I am always curious how I would have enjoyed a book if I had been reading it as it was coming out in the newspapers or piece by piece in another way. Would that long-windedness made me more satisfied each time a part was released? Would it draw me in more? I don't know!
