Whitesnake starts OK with Trouble & Lovehunter then a *superb* 3 album early 80's run with Live in the Heart of the City, Ready an' Willing & Come And Get It...then downhill with Saints & Sinners & Slide It In, then it's it's all over by '87 for me. That 3 album run though :-)

Bought this album when it came out in 1977 (still got it) and saw him live in 1977 at Camden Roundhouse and it was excellent. Since then a fully fledged Whitesnake fan and seen the band multiple times. Coverdales voice is up there with Paul Rodgers and Robert Plant. Truly one of the great Britsh Rock singers of all time.

Нам вообще сильно повезло...мы, практически, последнее поколение, которое ело настоящие продукты, слушало настоящую музыку, у нас даже на танцах играли живую музыку..и где мы совсем уж суперсчастливчики- это при нас были Битлз, Хендрикс, это при нас кроме грандов типа Пинк Флойд и ДП было огромное количество невероятно мощных групп Манфред, Слэйд, Гранд Фанк, Джетро Талл, Ливин Блюз, Назарет, Криденс...имя им - легион...они были очень разными, по разному известными, но они были талантливы, играли и играют настоящую музыку. Преднамеренно смешал в кучу группы, которые играли очень разную музыку но тем мы и счастливы, что столько всего разного и талантливого было и развивалось при нас.

Евгений, мне 61 и я тоже с ними, а они со мной всю жизнь- с 1973 года. Сначала был Гиллан, а потом конечно же Кавердейл с Хьюзом. И люблю и ´Того´ и ´Тех´! Их невозможно сравнивать, каждый из них был органичен в D.P. И оставили свой прекрасный след. Вот без Блэкмора уже сложнее воспринимать D.P. Хотя в ‘Come taste the band’ мне очень понравился Томи Болин(светлая ему память).

Я соглашусь с тобой, но только отчасти. Безусловно, и Хьюз и Ковердэйл оставили свой яркий след в стилистике и звучании Deep Purple на момент их участия в группе. Думаю ты согласишься, что альбом Come taste the band стоит особняком в творчестве D.P. Он какой-то более мелодичный, более блюзовый что-ли. Конечно в этом есть и заслуга Болина. Очень интересно было бы проследить за дальнейшим звучанием группы, и во что бы всё это в итоге воплотилось, но... Но это, если бы Болин не ушёл так рано. Ну а что касается Гиллана, то на мой взгляд он внёс просто неоценимый вклад в творчество D.P., и в первую очередь в саунд и музыкальный звукоряд. Да, музыкальная стилистика на дисках с его участием несколько другая, она какая-то более более жёсткая и хардовая. Но вместе с тем она более традиционная, если так можно выразиться более "классическая" для звучания группы. Возможно, что одной из основных причин ухода Ковердэйла из D.P. и создания им W.S., послужило понимание того, что не он совсем вписывается в концептуальную стилистику D.P. И может даже к лучшему, что дороги D.P. и Ковердэйла разошлись. Ведь один его диск 87 года чего стоит! Это можно слушать просто до бесконечности! Впрочем как и гилморовский сольник 78 года. Но это уже, как говорится, совсем другая история...
