Tommy Bolin was a great guitarist, songwriter, singer.. Solo stuff, James Gang, etc.

I love the ‘Stormbringer’ album. It’s probably the Deep Purple album I play the most.

Ritchie did not have a lot of input into Stormbringer. He was going through a personal issue. A few years later he did admit he should have contributed more. Still a great album and part of Deep Purple history.

What a lovely man. It´s so sad Deep Purple in that setting didn´t made more music. Thou Whitesnake with Mickey Moody and Brian Marsden was good too. The more Heavy Metal Whitesnake was ok but more superficial. Compare the lyrics of "Give me all your love tonight" to "Soldier of fortune" and at least I know which song I´ll sing "Till the day I die"...

Seems clear from DC's comments that at this point all was not lost for Purple. However, the behaviours over the next 7 weeks of the American tour must have been so bad it completely finished off the band.
