Cronenberg is actually a lot funnier than I anticipated. I find his movies fascinating and his writing, but I guess the picture of him on Wikipedia gave me the impression that he was a very solemn or unexpressive person. As for Strombo's question about a biopic, I'd love to have seen Cronenberg direct a movie like to Kill Your Darlings. Even though Naked Lunch was essentially Burroughs life, seeing him portray the entirety of that scene as it was developing would be interesting, especially since Cronenberg by his own admission has a writing style very similar to Burroughs.

I imagined he would be funny, since almost all his films are pretty hilarious in their own way.

One of the greatest and most intellectual directors, even though his latest films became too much like novels and kind of lost their visceral impact.

There are 2 people I wish I could be hired by as a composer. David Cronenburg and David Lynch. Life would be complete!

Wow. He was a particularly wise young guy. Damn. He should write a book. Either that or I should find his book.

Good interviewer, this George fella, but it must be so easy when you've got someone as fascinating and sharp witted as David Cronenberg on. Wish he did more interviews.

One of the more eloquent guests I've seen on a talk show in while....Almost up there with Stephen Fry! I'd love to see David Cronenberg on Q.I., now that would be brilliant.

Harking back to my Psych minor in Uni, i respected Jung for his morals and care when Psychoanalysis theories began. In pop culture it's always Freud this Freud that for once a stroy that is different. Can't wait to see the movie.

cronenberg has gone the way of brian de palma and to some extent tarantino. his films have gotten progressively worse since eastern promises. he is trying to be too intellectual and. thus his creativity is gone. he needs to get back to what made him great, but sadly these once successful directors rarely do. they just dont have the fire burning anymore
@sclogse15 жыл бұрын
I suggest you see History Of Violence, Spyder, and Cosmopolis.

@@sclogse1 those are his three worst movies. and the decline began with "existenz" (aka videodrome for idiots aka pre christopher nolan).

Well, thing he mentions in this interview about Freud and he's "warning", Kant and Schopenhauer did that much before him, at least in the context of modern western world.

1st of all #Strombo is not a great Interviewer.... his guests just make him look good bc #Strombo is harmless and never attacks his guests... so if that's what constitutes as a great Host, then even a Parrot can do a better JOB ! :p

+Frank M What makes a great interviewer?
@Jackmonster32318 жыл бұрын
+Marcio Cardoso Yeah I agree with you, what constitutes a great interviewer to him? You don't attack your guest during an interview, if you do that you're no better than Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reily. You're supposed to have a dialogue and be empathetic and sympathetic to the views, privacies, and integrity of your guest.

It's not journalism, it's a chat show that entertains. He's a great interview for that purpose.
