David was afflicted with a brain injury after a car accident that left him with left side paralysis and severe foot drop and muscle spasms that twisted his foot into an non-walkable position without pain and potential injury. For 10 years David was forced to walk this way.
Even orthotic devices could not control the foot. Numerous AFOs were made for him that simply caused skin breakdown as they were unable to stop the muscle spasms and twisting of the foot seen in this video.

David was fit with our FES system 10 years ago and has enjoyed restored walking and renewed quality of life. He is an active individual who now works, rides horses and stays active in the disability advocacy field.
