The is my interview with David Deutsch, Visiting Professor of physics at the Centre for Quantum Computation, the Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford University and an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford. We discuss the constructor theory of information, some of its conjectured principles, the unification of classical and quantum information, and more.

Great video! Thank you!! Looking at money through the lens of interoperability may be interesting. These days, we take it for granted that money is interoperable. It can be instantiated on paper, in hard disk, or whatever (though, in order for money to work properly, we need to carefully control how the states of these papers etc. are updated). But old form of money like metal coin was "non-interoperable information" in the sense that instantiating it required some particular type of atom.

Would David and his team be able to use a constructor to describe the possible and impossible of the Hilbert Hotel theory/illustration? I'm interested in how Constructor theory works when applied to problems, and such an illustration is a nice visual one (some videos recently covered it). :) PS, it is nice that David explained that Constructor theory allows us to define what the min/fundamental requirements for a qbit/quantum system is. Which leads me to think it would really be interesting how it would describe a Hilbert Hotel too. Would be a great teaching tool for those new to it.

I believe Pi can be represented mathematically in a variety of ways, the majority, if not all, calculate the value between 3 and 4. In one calculation i method I saw, Pi was expressed as a circle, converted into both a line and/or a rectangle. I believe the constant of Pi (the long number) could be used as a frequency (a fluctuating wave or beam/straight line), of which data could be sent along Pi that starts out as a circle, and becomes a line as long as you are within the range of Pi. The more the calculation method is away from the most accurate and furthest calculation, like closer to 4 than 3, the closer to 4, the more interference with the signal/communication there will be. The more accurate the calculation, the clearer the signal/communication. Which can also be said for laser light and Geometry of refractions. I like to think of pi as a bubble that burst, with all it's energy exploding in a straight line. Or a circle surrounding a starship that loses some energy/size to send a pulse outwards to send and receive communications/data when communicating with another ship or planet from orbit. The length of the signal can be within the limits of the potential energy of 3 to 4 from the source, Pi r2, with a more refined calculated begets a more refined laser like a razor.

Good questions! I will be following constructor theory closely and hopefully will take a deep dive some day soon. I love the meta-physical approach :)

Great! I was wondering if in any of the interviews you ask about the universal constructor and how it would be defined in both classical and quantum dynamics and if there is some fundamental difference to it between those 2 cases and if there is what exactly it is. I was also wondering about the engineering prospects of the universal constructor.
