Picky bride Katie has fruitlessly tried on countless dresses, but she doesn't seem to like anything she tries on. She is so confused that she even ends up confusing David Emanuel!

Exactly! Even if she knew what she wanted at the end while wearing she might not feel good at it anyway... Surely is better for her to try more on and see with even what style.exactly she falls in love at the end...

Yeah they're really drawing a long bow here to pretend that trying two dresses on and not 'seeing it' is being picky. The shape on the first one was delightful (that back!) but she was right about the beading not being right - it was lazily chonky.

One can be too picky though, forgetting about the actual wedding. While you want to look good you do need to be open minded unless you are prepared to hire a designer. If you;re too picky you'll be confused and never be happy with anything

I feel as though he tried his best and that she herself didn’t know what she wanted. She said 1920’s so the dress he gave her was 1920’s. It had sequence and pearls in that first dress which means it wasn’t boring. The second dress also looked amazing on her, even her entourage agreed. Somehow I feel your comment might be slightly sexist just because he’s a man. That’s just my opinion however.

You NAILED IT. Why in the world would you have the consultants wander around and pick dresses for you based on a few words said of what you think you want? Right away, a bride could say yay or nay....why drag them in to the dressing room just to have them refused? It goes to their egos....they want to see if they can choose what they think is right for the bride....I love seeing the dresses but hate the process. Cheers

I think he called her picky because she herself said she had looked all over London already and has hated "all of them." It is difficult to have a dress in a small shop that is completely different than ALL the other dresses she has seen. Besides, her "boring" and "average" reactions are not giving David or consultant much to go on.

He just didn´t listen. She said simple and elegant. Then she added the 20´s look, but many people just use that term to say "vintage" or "clasic". She also said "I want to feel like a grown woman, not like a child playing dressing up" Yes, the first dress may be considered a 20´s style, but wasn´t simple at all, also didn´t accentuate her curves, which was what she was looking for. She obviously wanted clean lines and little bling.

She said I looked like a Grecian goddess in it, but I didn't like it one bit, not the color, not the style, not one single thing. She gave somewhat contradictory directions: "glamour, simple, elegant." While those do crossover, glamour isn't usually simple. She had a vision but didn't articulate well at the top. Then she said "I don't know what I want" but then later said "I'm not confused." Ummmm. Dress #1 is anything but boring with all that beading. It's definitely more glamorous than simple. But it is of the era she asked for. It overwhelmed her, so I get the no. How can she call that dress boring or something you'd wear to a summer party?! Smh.

She definitely is. BUT she is so young that she has not yet come to terms with her own natural looks. She wants to look elegant and grownup - which can be done, she looks good, why not -, but really, her natural style would be "the fairy blown out of the woods", something playful, slightly enigmatic and capricious. Later in life she might finally accept her own style and then REALLY bloom.

That’s a cowl neck, right? If so, I’m surprised no other wedding dress has that neckline. It’s fairly common and rotates in and out of style every decade or so.

@@vandapurvis9464 I just scoured the internet for anything related to a Bordeaux neckline and came up short. She had a challenge that I, as a plus-size, am familiar with. She is very petite and the samples are not showing her enough of what the dress looks like, because it requires substantial alteration. When she said that neckline was unflattering, all I could think was, yeah, well they are hanging off you dear and the bodice is bunching. This whole two size system is insane. People can even be the same size and look very different because of height, complexion personal style and so many other factors. This is a great example of how size inclusivity saves labour costs and generates sales.

The first dress was more appropriate for a mature bride. The third dress is perfect for her both because she she young and very petite. It is simple elegant design that echoes the 1920s style without swallowing her up.

I’m into the fashion business and deal with mostly customised outfits for brides. Trust me, we really really appreciate when the client knows her style, it helps us narrow down our designs. But when brides are very picky, 8/10 times it never turns out well. I am not always a fan of David E but I totally get what he means when he mentions picky and difficult. People will find it hard to believe but since we are used to dealing with brides one on one, we figure out the most suitable styles within the first few mins of the appointment. We only need to make sure the brides’ personal style preference goes along well, to create the perfect look for the bride.

Part of the problem is that many young women don’t know anything about fashion silhouettes. When I was younger, more women sewed, and because they did, they knew what an A-line dress, or a 1920’s silhouette, or the various lines really were. They knew what an empire bodice was, and what a droop waist was. This young woman as all over the map, leading her consultants down the wrong road…David said that himself. The last two dresses she tried on were very much a 1930’s silhouette, which means that she came in the door already throwing the professionals off. It wasn’t picky, it was a lack of knowledge on her part, and also, a lack of homework. It pays for the young lady to really do her homework with the bridal magazines (which they have in every country now), and learn how to speak to her consultant. This will yield her the best result. When both parties speak the same language, it helps a lot, and you can get what you want.

Saying she is picky isn't fair. Most of the time, it's not about a look, but a FEELING. The dress makes them FEEL happy, beautiful, thin, etc, etc. And you don't/won't know until it's on your body. 🤷
