Music: Max Bruch Violin concerto No 1 - 2nd Movement (Adagio)
Today, as it was during his life, Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1, in G minor, Op. 26 (1866) is one of the most popular Romantic violin concertos. It uses several techniques from Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, including the linking of movements, as well as omitting the Classical opening orchestral exposition and other conservative formal structural devices of earlier concertos. Despite these modifications to the conventional Romantic style, Bruch was often considered a conservative composer.
Max Christian Friedrich Bruch (6 January 1838 - 2 October 1920),was a German Romantic composer and conductor who wrote over 200 works, including three violin concertos, the first of which has become a staple of the violin repertory.
Bruch was born in Cologne, the son of Wilhelmine (née Almenräder), a singer, Max Christian Friedrich Bruch, a lawyer who became vice president of the Cologne police. Max had a sister Mathilde.
Bruch married Clara Tuczek, a singer he had met whilst touring in Germany, in Berlin on 3 January 1881. The couple returned to Liverpool and took lodgings in Sefton Park. Their daughter, Margaretha, was born in Liverpool in 1882.
Bruch died, quietly and painlessly, in his house in Berlin-Friedenau in 1920. He was buried next to his wife, who had died on 26 August the previous year, at the Old St. Matthäus churchyard at Berlin-Schöneberg. His daughter Margaretha later had carved on the gravestone "Music is the language of God".

Dear qovardis, thank you for this wonderful video. I like very much David performance in Bruch concerto! Thank you very much for your work, you pleased many poeple with the music and video.I am from Romania like Ștefania (but I dont know her) only from your comments. I was at the concert in Bucharest on 14 sept.2018 and David came down the stage playing his Violine and stopt next to my seat and played. I am not too young and was a miracle. I have tickets for the Unlimited show on the 7th of many in Berlin, but i don t feel good and I want to gave the tickets. Maybe Ștefania want to go. Thank you very much for all what you do! Ma chère amie Thérèse, comme toujours, je vous remercie de tout cœur pour votre commentaire magnifique qui me dit à quel point vous avez apprécié le morceau de musique du concerto pour violon de Bruch et vous avez ajouté quelques nouvelles photos de la collection. L'Adagio est l'une de mes pièces préférées de tous les temps, que David joue avec son coeur. Oui, ce ne sera pas trop long avant que je ne revienne au travail sur nos systèmes de canaux après notre faune locale et nous avons une paire de cygnes tuberculés qui, comme vous le savez, sont protégés par notre reine et la couronne d’Angleterre. Malheureusement, je ne serai pas capable de marcher aussi loin que je peux avec mes mauvais poumons, mais au moins je sors et fais des petites courses pour moi-même, donc je ne dois pas murmurer. La douleur causée par le cancer me cause un peu de douleur, mais j'espère qu'ils le bruleront encore et que tout ira bien pour moi. Une fois encore, je vous remercie de votre amitié au fil des ans et de votre soutien continu à mon travail - je vous assure que je l’apprécie beaucoup, Thérèse.
