He's hardly an unsung hero. Guitar player might only care about Gilmour, yes, but music fans in general love Richard Wright and understand his contribution. No member of Pink Floyd was unappreciated.

David Gilmour is one of the best musicians in the world. I saw pink floyd in 1976, or 1977, I can't remember what year but I was in the front row. Saw zeppelin the same week also front row. One of the greatest week in my life.

This song has always been important to David Gilmour, in fact it may be his favorite Pink Floyd song of all time. Because it truly was the transition of Pink Floyd from an experimental psycho rock band to the very serious mature sound that came after with Dark Side, Wish you were, Animals, and the Wall. This single song was that pivotal.

Pink Floyd looked like they had a ton of fun together in the latter years. Also Guy and David have always had kind an enthusiastic little bond as musicians in my opinion, always smiling, and Guy always seems to be having fun. Rick and David also have such a telepathic connection, it’ll never be replaced.. Love this so much.

This reminds me of a day when i had a class about string theory and multiverses, and made me really inspired, contemplative. So i had to go to my room as soon as could to play Echoes out loud. The deep thinking about life, atoms, universe and everything else in which I was, is the perfect match to listen to it, as the song resembles such abstract themes with the ethereal sounds and fantastic lyrics.

David Gilmour is amazing as a sort of diplomat. Got to see him solo concert in 1980's and he waved at a group of children with his smile. So calm compared to Waters. Wright really enjoyed this close to his last days.
