In April 2014, David Hallberg made his La Scala debut tackling the tricky choreography of Rudolf Nureyev's version of Swan Lake. Here is the Prince's variation.

David is the most princely, graceful, romantic fairy-tale prince who has ever danced in ABT. There have been other top dancers whom I like a lot but nobody as elegant as David when it comes to Russian ballets.

I am sure this is exactly as Nureyev imagined it. Beautiful. Sublime.

La variazione del principe dal Lago dei cigni di Nureyev è complessa e non facile, ma D.Hallberg l'ha eseguita egregiamente. Grazie mille per la condivisione

Why the homoerotic innuendo between Siegfried and Von Rothbart? Oh, that’s right. Nureyev.
@airtraveller83245 жыл бұрын
Oh yes! that's Nureyev.

And there are a lot of studies about the Prince's homosexuality-he regrets his'mother request to an heterosexual engagement- and the beginning of his madness when he falls in love with a swan. Freud' intrerpretations and many others not Freudians agree. Probably, this were the basis that expresses so deep pain and sadness that Tchaickowski was living.

That's not Rothbart - it is the prince's tutor - you dont know the story of Swan Lake
@avesraggiana3 жыл бұрын
@@susanpfaust Oh, whatever. Being Nureyev, he probably has his tutor morph into the evil magician, Von Rothbart in the second and third and fourth acts. Give me a break.

Surprisingly sloppy, I was expecting near perfection. For THAT, go to Dowell.
@jillgooner2 жыл бұрын
