The last market to be synthesized and saturated up to now has been the debt market - while this was happening, groundwork was already being laid to create "healthy future markets for vaccines " in recognition of the fact that healthcare is now more than 20% of GDP (and climbing) and the genetics market (through mRNA vaccines) will be next.

David Harvey, like Paul Harvey, except for Marxists. He does a good job of explaining the history of neoliberalism to the masses.

As I watch these podcasts I become more nervous about the future of the US. I see it absolutely necessary for the working class to unite under a common cause. Even a casual glance shows without a doubt that NOTHING happens without labor. Labor is the first principle of the economy, and should be the prime directive. Because with that all other things are possible. The real problem as I see it is that capital has divided the working class between right and left ideology that all but denies unity. This leaves me in an uneasy state if mind. Mr Harvey pointed out that a large portion of yGerman people did not see the rise of fascism as it was happening. WE ARE AT GREAT RISK! I HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR RANKED CHOICE VOTING 🗳 IT WILL PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BREAK THE TWO PARTY STRANGLEHOLD AND ALLOW NEW IDEAS TO CIRCULATE. LEARD ABOUT IT, AND WORK FOR IT IN YOUR AREA, AND DO IT NOW!

Consent for the neoliberal program comes with nearly every action I take even though I am avidly opposed to it. As individuals that is what we are up against and we have not a chance of improving conditions singularly.

Reagan Thatcher era changes economics away from industrial based economics to financial based economics, capital taking production to cheaper labor, environmental, worker benefits locations without much thought to multimillions that would lose their jobs and futures overnight without concern or a plan from leadership of what to do with generations of manufacturing labors and their families.

There's little "liberal" about neo-liberalism...unfortunate wording...

22:41 The "Anti-Capitalist Chronicles" logo could just as easily fit on a bottle of rye or wine. Lol ... AND ... The Pinochet dictatorship's embracing of neoliberal ideas was also associated with the needs of American capital interests - otherwise why would the CIA give their rather hefty support?

My reading of books by David Harvey brings me to the conclusion that while he is striving to understand and interpret Karl Marx's analysis of capitalism's dynamics, his own analysis is influenced by his own interpretation of history and contemporary dynamics. For example, Harvey has a much better understanding of the effects of rentier privilege than I find in Marx. That said, I would urge David Harvey to re-examine the writings of Henry George (and the many analysts and interpreters of Henry George) who see virtue in the proposal to eliminate all taxation in favor of the public collection of rents from all sources (i.e., the potential annual rental value of all locations, all natural resource-laden lands, and all natural assets with an inelastic supply).

Thanks for sharing, I had not heard of Henry George or this concept before.

Nice interview you did with Harvey but the speaking 🎤 is loathsome to listen to... who's with me here ?

Fantastic interview. One point: If we let Marrism run rampant, we'll all be speaking Newspeak. Would you want to be called a "Yankeex" or have an @ put into your name? The alternative is to use Latino/a and Latinos/as "Latino (or) Latina" and "Latinos (or) Latinas", which doesn't force a neologism on anyone. Who knows but the language may eventually evolve naturally a gender-neutral way of forming the plural, as in the Scandinavian languages, which this is not. /Marrism, def., after a purported opinion of USSR linguist Nicolai Marr that there should be a "proletarian language" from which bourgeois concepts should be purged so they no longer had a pernicious influence on speakers. Negative examples of how the suggestion wouldn't have been controversial at the time were in the use of 'Comintern' for 'Communist International' or 'Agitprop' for 'Agitation and Propaganda' (the shortened form doesn't evoke the historical power of the original). Another example of how Marrism was actually put into effect can be seen in the fact that the term 'Nazism' was almost universally displaced in the Russian language by the term 'fascism', doubtless owing to the fact that 'National Socialism' conjures up a notion uncomfortably similar to 'Socialism in One Country' (which represented a break by Stalin with Marxism and Leninism). tinyurl.com/yfzxfyvs

"Boring"? I can't even imagine! This guy was so far ahead of the hipsters now parroting HIS ideas that the distance can be measured in lightyears. Are you maybe looking for guests who tap dance and juggle?

I don’t find him boring and I have ADHD. Maybe you don’t understand what he is trying to convey and your cognition automatically disregard the ideas by shutting him down.
