Absolutely brilliant !!! I've loved this song for a long time, and heard many renditions, but none touched me as much as this one. Thanks David, and thanks to the organizers for a great Carols By Candlelight.

I just saw David at the Clocktower in Moonee Ponds last night and to very popular request he performed this. I absolutely love him performing this in Carols by Candlelight. To be perfectly honest, I do not feel at all Christmassy until I hear him perform this each year.

This was easily the best performance of the evening. No idea why they put him second-last. It was a pretty wet blanket having the night conclude with certain other inferior performers screaming what were not even Christmas carols.

Hello. The highlights of the night (or any concert that contains multiple acts) are always put as the penultimate song. This is due to the audience reacting to that song throughout the last performance when people start to leave to beat the rush to the car park or train station. It's a stage tradition dating back to Shakespear I believe. Anthony Callea (sp?) did a mighty job of "You'll Never Walk Alone" but david hobson is the song you remember. The "wet blanket" is designed for you to enjoy your favourite of the night.

This is a perspective which is lost when viewing it on TV since there is no having to get out at the end of the show. Definitely makes lots of sense and gives me better appreciation for the layout.

Agree Stephen. But the production crew and musical director could not have judged Dami Im as being the act of the night during rehearsals. They went with the safe options . Hopefully learn something and next year might be different. But yeah, Dami Im was awesome, wasn't she?
