David Krakauer performs his song "Heyser Bulgar" together with the WDR BIG BAND under the direction of Chris Byars. Solos are played by Heiner Wiberny (saxophone), Raphael Klemm (trombone), and David Krakauer (clarinet). The arrangement is by Chris Byars. Produced at WDR Studio 4 / Cologne (September 2015).
New Yorker David Krakauer is a classical musician by training, - but he is at least as close to klezmer music and jazz. And Krakauer wouldn't be himself if he didn't also incorporate elements of avant-garde, hip hop and electronic music. He has become internationally known as a member of the band "Klezmatics", but he also maintains several (different) band projects of his own. For the first time he meets the WDR BIG BAND with his energetic music, with whom he will play the concert "Klezmer & Beyond" at the "International Jazz Festival Viersen" (2015) under the direction of Chris Byars.
