To everyone who thinks of David together with us! Exactly one year ago, David stood on top of Lunag Ri. We deliberately chose this day to share a few thoughts. Retrospectively, the project Lunag Ri was in various aspects a special one. On the one hand, it showed David’s persistence when it came to reaching personal goals. On the other hand, for us it felt like over the years trying Lunag Ri David found his connection to Nepal. A connection, which genetically existed from the day he was born. A connection where it was always important for him to find his individual approach to deal with it. The last months since the tragic incidence in Canada passed by quickly. The grief was accompanied by numerous beautiful memories, newly gained connections to people from David’s surrounding, and thoughts about how we can create a memento for the future. To intensively accompany David, our only child, and support his talent felt not only like a matter of course, but retrospectively it feels like a gift. Only little by little we get a sense of all that engaged and touched David. It fills us parents with pride, how much he experienced in his short life. At the same time it makes us sad to see what he had planned for the upcoming years all of which will remain unfinished due to his early death. We cannot climb mountains for him, however in his will we will try to implement some of his thoughts and make accessible those materials that were intended to be published. In this sense, we would like to share impressions from David’s memorial for everyone who couldn’t be part of it in July. This day meant a lot to us and was an important part in processing what happened. Claudia & Rinzi Lama

David reaching that balcony on the summit of Lunag Ri is the most iconic shot of him that I will never forget, it is one of the best climbing shots I've seen, just incredible! It is so sad he had to die so young, and in such unlucky circumstances on the mountain that was probably not a great challenge for his skill. Just unlucky timing to be in the path of the avalanche. If that hurts so much us that never met him it is impossible to imagine how it is to the family and friends. My deepest condolences to Claudia & Rinzi and the family!

Bin grade echt niedergeschlagen. Ein schönes Gedenkvideo.

Allaah is the Creator and wrote the beginning and the end for everything what he has created, He knows every action that is made on the earth and in the sky and in the depth of the sea. He made the human to explore, and also the strength in him. David was one of those human that showed that the top of the world was reachable. This guy, and others in the same branch are from another level, living to feel free and feeding your soul from what is made of, earth, taking risks to return to earth is something inevitable.Translate this, Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un.

On 16 April 2019 I was just staring my new job, a job that would later turn out to be the best thing ever! I was making 8k / month. A month! Shit was crazy, life was so good, I had more money than I knew what to do with let me tell you! So anyway, then covid happened and I lost my job and it's been a struggle to get back to that point again. America, I can start over! Land of the free! America.
