David Lee is a fantastic guy , got the chance of meeting him in my kitchen. He came to introduce himself to me . He had come for lunch with a lot ex Blackburn Rovers players, We spoke about his days at Bolton and this was during the 2001 season chasing for promotion. Being in a pub full of Blackburn fans and you being a Bolton fan. A true gentleman and a fantastic pleasure to meet him . A big thank you to Howard Walker and the rest of group who always came around to eat my food,.

Met David in the 90’s while on holiday. He was getting over his ankle break. Smashing lad and ultimate professional. He was even drinking lime and soda on holiday. Sent my son autographed photo which he still has to this day and when I was doing a charity fundraiser for MAGPAS he sent me an autographed pendant. Lovely bloke

Liam,John yet again another superb interview. I've said in previous comments that as a lifelong Bolton fan that era when Bruce Rioch joined are my happiest memories as a fan and I love hearing the stories from the players perspective. Now I know your podcasts are not all about former Bolton players but I'd love to see one with Andy Walker, Keith Branagan, Mixu, Tony Zico Kelly or Phil Brown. Continue the great work and I'd like a Bolton shirt please.

Thanks guys for a great interview. David comes across as a very unassuming nice bloke. I remember, as an opposing fan, he was the type of player you loved to watch but at the same time he'd proper give you the willies because you knew one burst of that pace and you were done for. I remember David Lee tearing Liverpool apart in an FA Cup game at Anfield when Souness was in charge in the early 90s. I was in the Main Stand sitting next to John Mc Ginlays mother. .She was a nice woman even though they beat us 2 nil and I think Mc Ginlay scored the 2nd goal. I game his mum some sweets during the game and she thanked me and my friends for our hospitality. She also gave me and my little nephew a big hug at the end of the game even though we were gutted the way we were outplayed and deservedly beaten.

I was in the main stand with my late dad and still remember saying to him early on at 0.0 that unless they tie that little Lee up were in trouble, I still couldn't understand how souness couldn't identify what I was seeing as he was just in front of me so seeing it at the same angles, the rest is history and he absolutely destroyed us that night, I'd played with Tony Kelly and knew how good he was, Jan Molby qualities and was on it that night, well played David.

Bolton played Soton in a FA cup game at Burnden Park . 2-0 down and they bring on David Lee (the Bury scourge of Bolton) , the defeated "oh shite" groans from the Burnden terrace were huge . Fortunately we drew 2-2 in one of the best atmospheres at Burnden. We will not talk about the reply.
