No mention of the remodel David got Showtime to do on the cafe? David briefly called their bluff, and said he wouldn't do the show without the remodel. There were a few days or a week when the idea was floated that another director would have to do The Return. Everyone in the show backed Lynch, and Showtime coughed up the money. The rest is history.
