Many (almost all) of journalists who are in the business today got their jobs because #1) they are great looking AND #2) their parents were rich enough that they could afford unpaid internships in the business until they got their first shot. That is it. Looks and money. What journalism does NOT require today (something that Ted Kopel possessed) is intelligence and quick thinking. Ted was able to respond (in turn) to each of David's points. There pretty much isn't a journalist working today that could do that without following a perfectly worded script. They can't think like that because they can't think. In 2002, Katie Couric interviewed Ann Coulter. All Katie could do is ask gotcha questions from a script and when Ann responded (in turn) Katie would dismiss all of Ann's rebuttals with the comment "well I am conducting the interview and I will ask the questions." Katie could never match wits with Ann Coulter (that could never happen) BUT she got her position in the media because of her looks and connections. She can't do any investigative anything, but she made the big bucks. Journalists and reporters, they do not want to be challenged on their own shows. To be challenged might expose the fact either A) they don't know anything or B) they can't think or possibly C) they don't know anything AND they can't think. Those are not pre-requisites' for an industry where the people working in it are focused on looks and money.

Ted Koppel and Forrest Sawyer were a great team. Such good journalism. My heart breaks for the lady who had terminal cancer.
@y2james2803 Жыл бұрын
But your heart doesn't break for children forced on anti depressants and other drugs that cause male youth to grow breasts, lactate and are choked by their psychologist...? The thing I noticed about the anti cos movement is they are so willing to turn a blind eye to the world's problems and real tyranny... They promote psychiatry, which by proxy is them endorsing eugenics, rascism, religious bigotry and anti evolutionary mind set. I had a anti cause pro psych guy claim that the Nazis didn't practice eugenics yet their are papers wirtten by Nazis on the subject and video of them going on excursion, measuring faces and bone structure. I think the anti cause movement itself work at a lower tone, they have a lack of proper analytical skills which cause them to spend hours making illigetimate arguments, postulations and considerations on what the true nature of reality is.

Narcissistic sociopaths/psychopaths are delusional, that is absolutely true, and likely what drove him to do the interview in the first place. However, it's more likely that his adeptness at façade management - another key narc trait used for manipulation - kept his "face" on afterward until he was back to his own place of control.

This is my favorite media channel for all reasons and topics you spoke about right now. Unfortunately, I do believe you share some responsibility for the “must have everything” climate in physical media. So I love and really appreciate you realizing that and helping. I agree that we collectors get too caught up in trying to own everything, rather than enjoying the products. I also have hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in media that I’ll probably never even have time to consume. Thank you for your message and all the work you put in. I look forward to your contribution and continued growth 🎉

There's tons of amazing journalists and journalism out there. You won't always find it on the internet however. Our primary news sources took a blow when we had a cult like Pres. named trump who told his followers that the world, specifically journalists, are just a bunch of liars out to get him so don't believe a word they print it say...wow. What could be the motive behind that? Hmm, you're tearing apart the core of free society. So important are journalists that our founding fathers included them in our Constitution. Hmmm? What could it all mean?

He is lying through his teeth that money goes into real estate have you seen this guy's house or houses rather they're not really houses they're estates. He is lying through his teeth all they do is buy property they're trying to buy up the world and everything that they claim to do for everyone is made in their studios as a film that's a bigger fiction than any of their favorite member Tom Cruise's blockbuster hits. The only thing good they ever did for society was pay taxes in the towns where they buy everything but now thanks to their number one goal in life being recognized as an actual Church and not a sham which is what they are they don't have to pay taxes so they can buy up your whole city and you got maybe the 20 people that aren't scientologists paying for everything that's a fact.

Usually the people being interviewed don't get to see the intro to the interview but Miscavige DEMANED to see the intro piece in this interview and even grabbed a producer by the collar to force them to show it to him. The producers relented and showed it to him, then Ted Koppel still proceeded to dominate little David. Absolute masterclass in journalism and interviewing! I think Miscavige exhibited every logical fallacy in the book.

My observations exactly! Here's the comment I wrote about just that: "Tom Cruise was the natural succession to this guy, a born actor, a much better actor than this character, with more charisma. Learned the abrasive & aggressive hard sell vernacular with the over- repeated phrases such as "Now you've got to understand", & "No, you're missing my point". Cruise was Groomed to be the next spokesperson For Scientology and Against Psychiatry. He ended up doing David Miscavage better than David Miscavage does David Miscavage lol."

Sadly Tom Cruise has allowed himself to be brainwashed and groomed by sadistic narcissists whose main goal is to alienate people from their loved ones and steal their money. Any TRUE religion will allow their members to leave it and welcome them back with open arms if and when they decide to return. Also all socioeconomic walks of life are welcome and are NEVER required to pay for direction or to become or stay a member. Also there are NO secrets in any REAL religion, period! This Miscavige is full of crap, he talks circles without saying anything.
