He has a silver star and a purple heart. It is listed on his stone in Normandy. He is on page 21 inside the book D Day.

When I saw it in a theater, they ran a message ticker as the film began, and it had a national toll-free number to call for veterans who were there at Normandy. That telephone ☎️ line received 1,000s of calls from veterans 😳 who experienced PTSD symptoms; some started crying loudly; some had to leave shaking with anger 😠 😡 👿 at some scenes in the movie. Incidentally, that film helped hundreds of veterans to finally seek care for mental wounds from that campaign! Too many veterans seek care from a bottle as a way to cope with the horrors and terrors they experienced and survived ; their buddies died, and some became confirmed alcoholics! If memory serves me correctly and I'm almost 70 years old now, Steven Speilberg made that film to honor the Greatest Generation !
