One thing I'm not sure is highlighted is that these high notes being held all come at the end of very vocally challenging songs with a load of high notes before that. Also, these are done so well with all vowels. Some vowels are more challenging than others to hold at high notes, but he can do it with quality on them all.

I have to disagree. it sounds like he maintains tension in his core throughout the entirety of the note(s). I.e. the note "sounds as though" he didn't take a breath right before. Although, it is possible, as Mark's hand is covering his mouth.

while these are awesome, it's giving David too much credit while the rest of the vocal band hold the notes for just as long. Guy Penrod might be holding the notes even more casually than David TBH

Very true. Though, one could argue that David's notes are more impressive, given the fact that they are more resonant AND higher. But the rest of the guys are also phenomenal!

That’s because David is singing higher, which takes more effort to hold the note.

@@gracealone89 Not entirely fact. Some of the mid to higher notes that David and Guy spend their time on take nearly the same amount of lung capacity. Depending on their technique, they can extend it further. That would be the additional effort; if any one of them was making up for less lung capacity. Now notes that really seem to take a lot of lung capacity are the lower notes.
