I don't know..., I understand and agree with what he's saying. But these books (whether real or not) give us whimsy. We know we are saved, we know God has something planned for us--but the wonder that inspires us to imagine can't be all bad? Without these books my imagination remains stagnant, a blankness of understanding-- only hope. The "story" gives me a seed crystal of wonder. This can't be bad..., I'm not hanging anything on it. When we die we will find out if these guys we're mistaken or lying-- what damage can honestly be accomplished in this?

1st, thanks for posting my adverse remarks & responding, my brother. Yes, I have recently discovered Platt & Chan, bought their books, & started searching for more of their work. Maybe apology is the wrong word. How about concession or compromise? There is no other construction fitting a message on roles of men & women where God's Word is defied in citing a woman who writes a book as an authority in the ekklesia. "Hireling" is the word used by the Word (Jn 10:11ff) - be careful what offends you.
