I never really knew much about Mr. platt until very recently and this was such an eye opener. What he and his”team” did to that church is so transparently destructive, manipulative and prideful. Hiding behind PC speak intended to intimidate, isolating longstanding members, gaslighting (some of the worst I’ve ever seen), blatant lying are just some of the tactics of these wolves. The voter manipulation was almost laughably reminiscent of voter fraud we’ve all seen in civil elections. All of this was/is extremely grievous sin and wickedness used by Satan to destroy a congregation. They will be held accountable because Jesus Christ is very jealous for His elect! This doc. Is excellent.

@@ReallyReformed97 It is absolutely right & good to expose this evil as clearly & fully as possible to the whole world. Right now secular movements of domination are having an adulterous affair with half the church, especially the most powerful successful ones. These movements hold to very different beliefs and commitments. They self-righteously practice lying to fulfilled their agendas & power. The culture knows this already, with a little effort. They know that Christianity is vulnerable because the cultural realities have changed radically. This is already known. What is not known is what the church will do about it, how it will play out. Secular organizations would have been better able to see God's writing on the walls, a writing clear with common sense truth. I was a lay person in SBC churches for 50+ years, and I can define the SBC better than the Executive Committee can?? It is an affiliation of INDEPENDENT Baptist churches; it is not a denomination - though everyone pretends and acts like it is, the national org, pastors, and church members. It formed for the sole purpose of pooling money and resources to spread the gospel, to have a greater impact together than each could have had separately. The SBC organization needs to dismantle. It isn’t needed anymore. With the Internet, it isn’t needed, but they are so hungry for power, influence, and money, that they can’t bear the thought of burying it. Every bureaucracy has its corruption, and the SBC is not exempt. They have even used congregants’ donations to argue in legal courts that the SBC is a hierarchical organization with control over SBC churches, akin to the Roman Catholic Church. THIS IS A LIE. I don’t know why churches are still in it, and I don’t know why individuals are still in SBC churches. You kill a monster by cutting off its head - the money. To SBC Church Members: If you insist on giving to your SBC church, designate your gifts to stay at the church, not going to the state or national conventions. It is clear that the MBC didn’t understand what the SBC is, but the SBC staff played word games. They should have directly addressed the intent of the member and admitted affiliation. Despicable. This is why I and many others are out of organized churches. They manipulate and only indoctrinate to the favored systematic. No Bible questions, no discussion. “Believe as I tell you to believe, or you’ll be disciplined and shunned.” Christendom is a complete mess. I’m so thankful I have God’s word and the Holy Spirit.

Years ago I heard David Platt speak a couple of times on You Tube. He seemed somewhat disingenuous to me so I never continued listening to him. I am not surprised by any of this. Still I feel somewhat shaken, watching this. I recently followed the story of another church body going through the same thing. Actually several church bodies, over the past 5 or so years. This is so far divorced from what the body of Christ should be, that it no longer is. I am not talking about the general congregation, I am referring to the leadership, elders, deacons, pastors. My heart aches for all these people represented here over these two video presentations, who have suffered the indignities and the hurt produced by David Platts take over. I feel sad for so many of the people who have stayed there, for what ever reason they do. This is one of the many reasons why I personally firmly believe we need to get back to smaller congregations, and house churches. We have to re think church, as in New testament early church. Without knowing anything about MBC or Platt, I was able to discern 1) This was not a healthy church. 2) Platt was giving off fraud vibes-a sly wolf. I wondered, was I the only person seeing through the charade? Thankfully, no. Thank you, LORD, that you are exposing hungry wolves, thieves and robbers, and purifying Your church. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for courageous men and women who choose not to run away from wicked men. This infiltration and takeover is happening across the US. And we wonder why people, who claim to be Christians, are confused and weighed down with sin and false doctrine. They know so little about the Word of God. God Bless John MacArthur for recently saying what needed to be said, when G3, Founders Ministries, Ligonier and others have failed to communicate the gravity of what Steve Lawson did so cleverly. If John MacArthur can be deceived, we’re all vulnerable to being devoured. This is a teachable moment and not a time for silence. One striking thing about this "church"'s "restoration process" is their weaponization of Matthew 18. This chapter talks about repentance and reconciliation when your brother/sister sins against you. In this case, it is evident that many church members aired grievances against the leadership board and expressed ways in which leadership sinned against the congregation. However, the same leadership board has turned around and put the onus of repentance on the *congregation*. Basically, they're saying, "we did nothing wrong, and we're going to interrogate you and demonize you in front of the whole church if we need to unless you bow to our commands." It is a sinister perversion of God's word, and one unfortunate tactic used by other churches. I speak from experience, having left a church where leadership sins against you and accuses you of being the one in the wrong. It is sickening. Lord, forgive me, for I am a wretched man. I praise you for your steadfast love and for rebuking me for my transgressions. All glory and honor are yours in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

As a Southern Baptist, it is embarrassing to see Ashley Clayton not be able to properly explain that the SBC is not a denomination. For a man in his role to be unable to do that with ease is unbelievable. I'm not defending Platt or SBC at all, just noting that it is true that SBC is not a denomination which means that the SBC does not have any authority over the churches that join the SBC. The SBC acts as a fellowship of churches that agree to join together through the cooperative program and do larger ministries and achieve larger goals. Again, I'm not defending the SBC, but Clayton should have easily been able to explain this.
@jamescook56172 ай бұрын
Sure, and David Platt could have easily responded to the question that there are no churches in the SBC denomination since it's not a denomination. However, in as much as people call it a denomination, we're part of that denomination and are heavily vested in giving 100's of thousands of dollars to it from our slush fund, I mean he could have said that, because that clearly indicates they were in violation of the church's constitution at least in spirit if not in letter. David Platt is a great example of typical SBC leadership. His obfuscation and incessant gaslighting are signature SBC moves.

The issues laid out from the perspective of the former members are troubling. The only hesitation I have is that the secular court has been brought into a dispute between Christian factions at MBC. Wow, that whole piece about the trespassing charge and taking that guy to court is insane. What a den of vipers.

The church made a mistake in wanting a “celebrity” pastor. Platt made a mistake in thinking he could just come in and do whatever he wanted. His bullying tactics didn’t work. And his CRT woke teachings are just a pathetic attempt to be culturally relevant. Platt should have stuck to his bread and butter missions messages, and never left the church he built himself in Alabama. The grass isn’t always greener. He found out the hard way. Let’s pray for MBC (or what’s left of it) and for David Platt to be humbled and repent.

Platt underestimated the teaching of Lon Solomon to the people at MBC. There were too many discerning members.

he did not "build" Brook Hills .. he took over after the initial pastor had to resign over a lengthy affair
