2:18-3:00 IS THE MOST ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF SEVERE DEPRESSION BEING EXPLAINED TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT IT. (ALTHOUGH we KNOW he is speaking on the calling of a missionary) That explination is ASTOUNDINGLY accurate for a depression sufferer. For some depression patients with other mental challenges added to their suffering, pampering, and catering to "special needs" may be very benificial. To a mentally depressed person with no lack of intelligence this is the "ultimate slap in the face". While NOT opposed to man made medicine ENTIRELY when you walk into dozens of different Dr's offices as they scribble their notes and have NO HOPE themselves of which "flavor" skittles MAY just do it for you, this is well basically like throwing gasoline on an open fire. In the sense its depressing knowing people have studied up to 8 years of their lives in pshycie and medicine and the human brain, and are as "lost" as you about it. Maybe this is a time when Christians let their "intelligence" and "own understanding" ACTUALLY BLOCK them from letting go and letting GOD ?? I am "mostly" speaking to self here, although while TRUE BIBLICAL faith in God is being "watered down" by the very Christians teaching the gospel around you. Well, once again like "throwing gas on fire" of the opposite of faith? Read that twice if need be. If I am "nuts" in my thinking here JUST SAY SO offending me is something NOT easily done, FIRE AWAY. I am COMPLETELY open to "suggestions" which with little understanding of severe depression from Doctors and experts, why that in itself is "depressing" ha ha but NO PUN INTENDED. Maybe GOD has truly chosen me WAY MORE than I even can fathom? Maybe God is going to "use" my life to increase the FAITH of his very people AND the non-Christian medical world by showing us all HOW MUCH GREATER IS HE THAN THEE? Maybe rather than "cure" me he is going to sow us both the TRUE Joy and Happiness he absolutly can bring the MOST SEVERELY un-happy?? Maybe the un-prosperous person WILL become amazingly prosperous yhrough God NOT for personal gain but for Gods glory and purpose? Your "beliefs" and such are VERY powerful and absolutely effect ones life. God is SO MUCH BIGGER THAN WHAT WE KNOW AND BELIEVE. I don't know, I DO KNOW "white knuckling" it through life "hiding" it has proven unsuccessful, I know "self-medicating" to be more damaging than good, physically, morrally, and spiritually. I have done things that "TEAR" at my soul, things I NEVER FATHOMED. Things that "sicken" myself to live with, ALL OF WHICH ARE KNOWN. God IS the ONLY TRUE HOPE. Guide me, correctly I pray, and let us ALL learn from God. Willing to DO whatever it takes!! Even attempting to "please man" while simultaneously "ignoring man" while keeping COMPLETE faith in God. Romans 10:1-3 (Paul speaking of his fellow Jews who do not trust in Christ as Savior and Lord) "Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness." It is not only possible, but sadly all too common, to believe in (or have knowledge of) God and yet be lost. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. (See Romans and Ephesians and the Gospels and all of the rest of Scripture.)

HE ONLY KNOWS HOW TO PREACH GUILT. ITS SHAMEFUL. DAVID PLATT GETS IT WRONG. Social Justice is a Blank Check for Abuse of Government Power & Less Feedom, and Contradicts the Bible. Thomas Sowell fee.org/articles/thomas-sowell-social-justice-philosophy-is-a-blank-check-for-government-power/ "In politics, the great non-sequitur of our time is that 1) things are not right and that 2) the government should make them right. Where right all too often means cosmic justice, trying to set things right means writing a blank check for a never-ending expansion of government power." For the social justice warrior, equality of treatment under the law is not a sufficient condition to achieve justice What Do Social Justice Warriors Want? To make this a reality, processes need to be put in place, according to social justice theory, so that outcomes - such as income level, unemployment rates, leadership positions, etc - are equalized regardless of one's starting point or demographic trait. Any deviation from 'equalized' outcomes suppossedly proves in the eyes of social justice that some form of social injustice- racism, sexism, capitlalist greed- must be the culprit. The quest for social justice “focuses on one segment of the population and disregards the interests of others." Sowell takes issue with such thinking. He believes it is the actions and policies in search of equal outcomes, along with their results, that need to be judged by an ethical evaluation of justice. Hi Bobbi, I know this comment is coming late but I suppose to help answering that question, we can look to Romans 10, verses 14 and onward, where Paul writes: "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? and how are they to hear without someone preaching?" Basically, this passage says salvation can only come from faith in Jesus, which only can come if you've heard the Gospel spoken. That's why David Platt so emphasizes the Great Commission.
