prime sabonis is unbelievable!!!

To be honest, even there he wasn't at his prime, he was already after his Achilles injury and re-torn. He got that injury in 1987 and went to the Olympics just as a tourist (well, coach convinced him to go like that, the same coach who overworked Sabonis) and had almost no practices. You can only imagine, if Sabonis went to NBA in 1986 as he was drafted: better medical help, probably avoided Achilles injury and being in his true prime up until like 1996 with prime Drexler and maybe Petrovic.... MJ might not even have had 1 ring...

Too bad Arvydas didn't join the NBA during his physical prime

I remember this game. despite the highlight dunk this was not the greatest performance by Arvydas and USA won this game by 1 point . 2 years later in the Soul Olympics he showed his true dominance.

Robinson was an All Star his first year in the NBA, so college David Robinson is not far from that level.

Prime Sabonis was the best non-American center all time before Jokic.

I believe MJ is the GOAT, but had Sabonis came over to play with Portland after they drafted him, MJ's legacy might be a lot different.

How much taller is Sabonis...Jezz! This is not 2 inches...this is 4

He was listed 7-4 at that time. Robinson was 7-1.

Sabonis was a fucking giant he was like 7’4 and probably around 260-270

@@6DoctorJ Sabonis was listed at 7-3. Robinson had not quite grown to his ultimate listed height of 7-1 yet, and had certainly not filled out. In fact, Robinson was listed as 6-10, 217 on the USA roster heading into these '86 World Championships.

My point exactly, he’s a skywcraping big who can move surprisingly well and plays really good D, but as far as the footwork the shooting the passing, it’s not comparable. But Mf’s will tell you he was the same kind of offensive hub Jokic was and that’s not true, he doesn’t even try to be. He looks great though.

Que pena tantas lesiones para Sabonis siendo tan joven ....creo que la primera rotura de, tendon de aquiles fue a los 20 años
