Thanks, Maggie & David, for this candid, frank, & honest conversation about our highest offices, I wish we would return to the higher standards that our founding fathers envisioned. Today’s polarization, I fear, may be the beginning of the end. I hope I’m around to see it return to a semblance of statesmanship.

Should’ve followed the Powell doctrine and sent in 200,000 troops, not 10K. Rumsfeld was the worst!

David was very good on most of his observations and comments. However, I do think he is way off base on Chump and his statements that Chump actually believes his own lies. It is a well established fact that Chump has been a lifelong con man, grifter, cheat, and low life. There are just way to many factual examples of that to conclude Chump believes his own lies. You cannot believe that a 10,000 square foot penthouse is actually 30,000 square feet. You cannot believe that a 64 story building which is missing 7 floors of umbers is actually 64 stories high. You cannot believe you are a scratch handicap golfer when you know you cheat multiple times each round. Chump is a serial liar and he knows it but simply does not care. It i s the Roy Cohen playbook of never admit anything which Chump learned at a very early age.

Lots of good insights here. But while I know Trump talks himself into crediting alternative facts, it’s hard to believe he really believes his big lies about the election.

Trump occasionally drops the veil of the big lie and the truth sneaks out of his confused mind. When it happens and he is asked about it, he claims he was joking or is being sarcastic which makes no sense. He panics thinking that his MAGA cult followers will catch on and he has to keep the mind trap shut to keep the lie going. He is well aware that he lost and he even disclosed to Bob Woodward that he lost.

Trump's lack of discipline is epic, and his rallies increasingly sound like therapy sessions.

Lots of people are smart. Most ... in one way or another. Not many with a close relationship with the truth or morality any longer. Makes me want to vomit hearing about how smart Clinton is.

When Haberman is interviewed she shows no emotion. It's off putting.

She’s not being interviewed. She’s the interviewer. And I’m not sure which interview you think you’re watching, but she is not emotionless. Or maybe you’re a bot.

1 reason I've become a fan, she's been the voice of reason & frequently only adult in the room for years now, + she knows her stuff & is good @ her job. Not only is she recording history she's very possibly making it by being conscientious & due diligence.

Why amplify Haberman? Why not instead interview someone … anyone … with integrity?

Haberman's humorless Trump Whisperer act is absolutely insufferable and well past it's sell-by date.

What? She’s exposed Trump as the lazy, grifting, narcissistic Cheeto bag of a human for what he is. He will sell anything to the highest bidder.

@@unowen-nh9ov How is it trolling not to be into Haberman's self-important act? This is a great series generally. Just not a fan of anything she's written on the Trump beat. The palace intrigue stuff never amounted to anything major. Her "insight" into how he thinks is so dull by now when the results are so monstrous.
