He's not leaving her because it's not there anymore, he's leaving because he doesn't want to get his heart broken again. He was hurt so bad from a previous break-up, that now that he's falling in love again with this new woman, he's afraid she's gonna break his heart too. So instead of waiting on her to eventually break his heart one day, he's gonna leave before it happens.

I 'm a white boy who grew up on a farm in Missouri. My older borthers all played country and rockabilly...I was heavy into rock 'n roll and SOUL. Had my first two songs, "Whispers (From the Back of Your Mind)," and "You Dream in Color," published by Motown. David Ruffin, is just one great reason I fell in love with soul music. Thanks, man.

I think he's the best that ever did it and got away with it! But there's another guy who also sang with the Temptations. His name was Ali Ollie Woodson, and when I listened to him, I needed clarification and which one was best? May they both Rest In Paradise. You have to listen to Ali sing the old classic, "Some Enchanted Evening when he was with the temptations. Be well, my friend.

For me, the message was that he loved her so much that it scared him, and he didn't know what to do. He was scared of being hurt, and he wouldn't be able to handle it. He wanted to leave while he could still be in some sort of control of itself. He was actually worried that she would leave him and it scared him. He didn't feel worthy of her.

You know one of my favorite artist of all time Marvin Gaye said that he wished that he had a manly voice like Mr. David Ruffin. Which shocked me because i think Marvin has a manly voice. When i think of manly voices i think of Teddy Pendergrass, Barry White, Dennis Edwards, Levi Stubbs, Dennis Edwards, Otis Redding, Issac Hayes, Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye. Mr. Ruffin was no joke as a vocalist. Can you please do a reaction to Marvin Gaye's What's Goin' On/What's Happening Brother (Live) Video.

He is walking away from love before love break his heart. He has an history of love ending and the girl walking away. So this time he is going to walk away before she does ever though he still loves her. Yes it has a disco vibes because it was written and produce by mister do the hustle himself Van McCoy . Who was one of the pioneer of the hustle disco sound. You picked up on it you got an ear for music.

D.R. knew what he wanted, he did not know how to love it appears, but it does not mean, no one ever loved him. Mr D.R's blood relatives loved him including his children loved him. This innocent man went through life not knowing how to give and receive love in a relationship or in marriage, life seemed to be about surviving and making the best of each day recious soul Mr D .R was abused and green up not knowing either a mother's love due to her death when he was 10 months of age and his birth father was strict and physically abusive beating him and his siblings with A Whip like On A Plantation, not a belt, he never knew his Father's love,as parental love nor did he have or experience affirmative male guidance; this previous soul lived a instinct and survival smarts and go-with-the-flow it appears. He was blessed to marry o woman who truly loved him and later met a woman, who became a longer term girlfriend who was fell in love with him not knowing he was currently a married man, they had a son together and when she learned DR was a married man, she never apologized to his wife nor did she end a relationship based on deception, a sad ending for both women at different seasons in his life. It is so clear why he lived a joyless life, the ones who cared could not heal his void and heal his heart felt pain, nor could these individuals feel that place in him only his Maker Could Do the Genuine alive and Healings D.R needed.

I really enjoy watching people 'feel' the outstanding vocal talent of David Ruffin's "Walk Away From Love". And you gave me everything I needed to see from the very beginning. I love the expression on your face when you start to listen to the song. Especially the building emotions of the lyrics he sings. Mary Wells' "You Beat Me To The Punch" has a similar message in the lyrics. It reveals how great musicians can influence each other.

Ruffin just had to do something right in the middle of the hottest music going around that time in 'Disco' and what a way asking one of the Disco kings to produce his record in Van McCoy. It paid off as this single sold over a million copies and was No 1 on the Billboard R&B. You should check out Ruffin's 'My whole world ended' (1969) It was his debut solo single just after he'd left the Temptations that did very well on the charts too.

Hey I love your reaction, but I think you missed the overall message of this song . Hes saying because things are going so good hes going to walk away because he knows it won't last forever.. He believes she's going to break his heart because it's too good to be true.. I think in most of the ships this usually happens the other way around.. But it's almost like I've been hurt by love so many times that when love is actually good to me I'm running away from it
