Being a flamenco guitarist I should not comment but I like very much how David Russell makes this more like a song or lament rather than a jumping dance. Sorry if I get it wrong.

In reality, he has managed to turn a beautiful ober full of emotion into something boring and lacking in expression. Too slow in many parts. It breaks the rhythm and the charm. I'm sure he is a master at playing other kinds of classics, but this piece is not that. I let you here a couple examples of people with more ore less technic, but with feeling. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3jQc415nNx0rMU&ab_channel=PaolaHermos%C3%ADn kzbin.info/www/bejne/sF7Gf56rfJiCp6s&ab_channel=PabloSainz-Villegas%2CSpanishGuitar

kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGWmq6WOh8h3oM0si=sqzaTtEj-JjtoKcX. Try this by a pupil of Tarrega’s played without nails, like the Maestro would have played it. Naturally the audio isn’t all that great but listen to the phrasing and appreciate the virtuosity.
@steffanfockenssf Жыл бұрын
Verry well done , but i believe if you give him a 300k classical guitar , the special ones . it would sound 100× deeper with reasonance ... wich does great on theyse songs.

I agree that this is one of the most beautiful interpretations around of this masterpiece. The way he plays that chromatic run resolving on the major theme around 3:30 is pure delight.

I think he hit the perfect tempo for this piece. I think it loses something when people play this too fast. I, too am learning this piece and this sedate tempo makes it a little more achievable.

I love the gentle and laid-back mood of this performance. Some guitarists play Caprichio Arabe as if it's supposed to make you nervous, and they lose all the playfulness just to achieve accuracy and speed.

BRAVISSIMO!!! I've been listening to this piece for 40 years and playing it for over 20 years, it's very rare to hear someone that plays it correctly and you absolutely nailed it.
