I noticed in this episode that David constantly shuts down and dismisses Jasons ideas and feelings. He did it with Ilya too - I noticed David is very quick to shut opposing ideas out and not listen to them or be a polite active listener. We can all do this, so it’s nothing new, but it could be why Jason isn’t having fun anymore. He’s constantly shut down and dismissed and talked to like he’s an idiot

You have to understand that David and Jason are running a podcast which entertains millions of people. An extended story about how she panicked because her car wasn't working is not that interesting. The only reason people are commenting to let her tell her story is because they do not get to hear much from Taylor. Realistically, after one or two mediocre stories about everyday mishaps and the listeners/viewers will likely lose interest at best. At worst, she'll start being flamed for being "dramatic" about the small things. David might, unknowingly, be doing her a favor. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

​@@xxkarlosxxxxxx7233 This hits home - I feel as if there will never ever be a distinctive "end" - even if there hypothetically were a certain date in which covid and everything involved were to be officially "over" at midnight one day, the mental health issues, the economic issues, the losses and so much more would still continue seeing their consequences. I so so so badly wish every single day that there could be a way where it could all just end in one go and we could return back to normal/before, but it's impossible and the world will never feel exactly the same as it used to. I think we all have to somehow find joy in the new ways of life and have gratitude for what we do still have - evolving and using the best natural human feature of all time being adaption is the only way forward. Who knows how long it will take to achieve, but I suppose progress will be noticing over a very long period of time that we have grown since the year of 2020, as we already have. It's a marathon, not a sprint as they say...

I know you guys will never read this, but hearing David's view on moving to a paid platform or even just putting good content behind a paywall made me respect him so much more than I already did as if that was possible. I'm the same age as you David , but I'm a girl, and I'm currently homeless. All I have pretty much is my tent my cat and my phone and NOT by choice whatsoever. But your content is the one constant thing in my life that makes me happy and can bring me out of my darkest times. I've been trapped inside my house for 21 months. Not able to work (I was able to find a remote job for a few months that ended in September), see friends, or see my family because I'm immunocompromised. My anxiety has been at an all time high. My stress.. I can't even describe the feeling of trying to support my child without a pay check. But I also want to say thank you for being a much needed distraction for me. Being able to watch your entire friend group goof off and have fun makes my week. If you want to stop the vlogs and focus on other things, do it. Also I wanted to add that my daughter has been fully remote since march 2020, it has been the best thing for her. She finished 5th grade in June 2020, 6th grade in February 2021, 7th grade in August 2021, and 8th grade in December 2021. She should just be starting her second semester of 7th grade right now, but she's starting 9th. Thats been the best thing to come from this horrible time, she's able to go at her own pace.

I think the theory about living in LA is pretty realistic. I didn't realize it was a factor for me until you said something. A good example of this is Casey Neistat with NYC. His LA vlogs definitely have their own charm but both cities are eccentric in different ways. The things that happen in New York just don't happen in Los Angeles, and it has a very noticeable effect on the content.
