The trick to maintaining languages is you gotta exercise the languages, read, write and speak it as much as you speak one of those languages. I’m bilingual I speak Spanish fluently and natively per say. But I read and write in it as much as I do in English, if someone speaks Spanish I speak solely in Spanish with them etc. exercise it like an actual physical exercise.

I was recently studying Spanish with an audiobook that also did the hard Spain lisp pronunciation after each word which was definitely really wild to discover. You do actually get good at that accent after a while like anything, even the rolled R's which are way more prominent in the Spain Spanish also.

Well, as a Spainard I'd say we have a lisp when we speak, because we have a lot of C's, and Z's in our words, so we pronounce them constantly. And when speaking english, the tongue's basically molded in speaking spanish, so it's different, hence why the lisp. 😊

@@Timothy Honestly I have no idea... 😅🤣 That was just a guess basing on my experience as an english (language) teacher... 😅 But I guess it has a lot to do with our very own accents here, since the way we speak spanish here in the south of Spain and the north of Spain is so very different. If you research it, Andalucian Spanish has a lisp too. So if people speak our native language with a lisp. For sure they will also have a lisp when talking other languages. Again I say that's because they're used to pronounce words a certain way. That is until they are exposed enough to english (or other lauguages) that they adapted finally to it. Aaalso! I love you and David so much! Both of you are hilarious!

DUDE LOL Same with spanish & arabic lol We share words that mean the same just a little different pronounciation BUT lol Air in spanish is Aire (Eye - reh) aaaaand that means Dick in Arabic Lmaaaoo i'm Mexican & live in a city thats heavily populated by Arabs, so i tell my mom to be careful what she says sometimes in public lmaooo and David speaking on getting better the more you talk, i'm the same way & my spanish has improved by alot.
