Poor Aaron must be really depressed knowing that none of his family could be bothered to come to comfort him after David's death. Same goes for David, not even his Mother could be bothered to come to his funeral...and Lucy was the only one to come and comfort Paul. I know it's a soap but that's just ridiculous, beyond words. They didn't even bother trying to explain any of the absences. A simple mention that David's Mother had died off screen in the years since the show was off, would have been sufficient to explain her absence...it's not as if they will ever bring her back so there's absolutely no reason to keep her character alive at this stage. The writers and producer need to step back at this stage and let some new, competent blood, take over the show.

In one of the latest episodes Aaron was getting angry at David for leaving him but I think he should listen to this message again. David felt like he was righting a wrong for when he let that other guy die. It's really sad for Aaron and Isla.

Hadn't watched Neighbours in years then started watching again just before it was cancelled. Now here I am, since it was brought back, trying to get to know who everyone is. David's passing had me in bits, I have to admit, very sad. Love watching, but have to admit, there are a couple of characters I wish they would get rid of.. irritating doesn't come close and I feel they ruin what is essentially a great show

I agree, I hate most of the new cast, they're so bland and boring..I also think they should have Aaron leave now too as he's a pretty pointless character imo...although I have no problem with the new girl playing Nicolette, she isn't a patch on the original so if she was to leave with Aaron, I'd be fine with that. Even though there's been a few good episodes recently, overall I find the new series really dull, unfortunately.

I despise that gold digger who has her claws into Paul and that one who is married to the Policeman, always poking her nose into everything that's none of her business. Can only hope things improve as time goes on

The sole reason they killed off David was so that Aaron and Nicolette could stay on the show. David was supposed to go to prison for many years in 2022. But the cancellation news changed everything and they wanted to give David/Aaron a HEA. Takaya Honda must have made it clear that he didn’t want to return so they chose to kill him.

He wanted to be written out and had already decided to leave original on Neighbours before it being axed. Obviously it finished before he was to leave the show as David would have stayed in prison I believe and he and Aaron likely would have broken up with David probably ending it and wanting Aaron to not wait for him and move on which in a sense is what David is doing with the voice message. The producers brought him back with this storyline because they knew he didn't want to come back permanently and to keep Aaron on the show, they didn't want to repeat the story of him being sent to jail so the only other option was David to die.

That is the reason he came back as he already told originally that he was leaving before they axed Neighbours so he only came back knowing this was his final ending while it letting Aaron also be able to come back to the show and move on eventually after the death of his husband.

Good acting that day but neighbours is literally scraping the bottom of the barrel ATM, the only good actor is Paul Robinson but blaming him for his own sons death was appalling, neighbours do better seriously!!!!

They sure have come back with a cast full of drab characters, that's for sure...and the young "pretty" ones are the most drab. When you think back to all the memorable characters over the years...none of this lot will be remembered at all, let alone be fondly remembered.

Have they changed the writers or something, suddenly this show has gotten a LOT better. In terms of both storylines and acting. They're even leaving the street for scenes! Maybe the chemistry between the cast has taken off, because when it first came back it was shit. I think they have quite a good cast right now

IMO, David’s best scenes were always with Leo. This reboot didn’t seem to understand or care about that relationship. They’ve also totally wasted Leo and Tim Kano’s talent. Leo should be losing his mind and causing trouble over losing his beloved twin. Instead he’s carrying his girlfriend’s purse. What a disappointment.

These scenes have been undeniably moving and very well written & performed. BUT… Can’t you let your LGBTQ+ characters have happy endings? Hendrix- dead. David- dead. Chloe- married but with an incurable disease which will ultimately kill her. The ‘bury your gays’ trope is so common (overused) in tv and film and members of the LGBTQ+ community need to see that they can live happy lives.
