We streamed this live at a GO discord last night, went into it not knowing what it was about. It's a lot. BEAUTIFUL, powerful, but incredible dark. This scene is quite amusing out of context until you realise David is playing a scientist turned SS Nazi soldier in this scene. The song is about him leaving his wife and kids to be with his student lover, and he's asking his Jewish friend if he can use his cabin for the two of them to live in, who awkwardly asks him to get him some train tickets to Switzerland in return so he can escape, something David's character refuses him because he is too blinded by his own ambition and problems to realise his friends situation.

Thank you for this. I registered for GO Discord but living in Europe the times are inconvenient. I can't figure out how to interact with it, as well. In an interview, DT talked about the conflict this play presented... I can't watch it over IPlayer either😢 Many thanks again!

Wow 😢😢 Yeah, I had a rough idea of what this is about. David has incredible acting skills....there seems to be nothing that he can't master! I tried to watch a dark comedy about the death of Stalin last week, but I just couldn't bear it. 15 minutes in, and one of the main characters was casually joking about raping multiple women, to get them or their husbands to talk, whilst in the foreground he was part way through torturing someone, and off screen you could hear people shouting "long live Stalin", before very obviously being shot. It's supposed to be a really funny comedy, but I just couldn't take it.

as a German I keep wondering why there's a Bavarian mouintain band in the Schwarzwald 😂😅
@PichDextro5 ай бұрын

@PichDextro5 ай бұрын
