Beautifully played "Memories" and loved it. This guy is unmistakably good. Got his break from the Johnny Carson Show ... serendipity !!!

Love watching piano players when they show the hands on the piano. It’s so amazing how they know the song and piano notes by memory. Love it

Actuallyt, there were two people. A lady called Mary-Jo Manilla played first, Christmas Bells. Beautiful playing, then Tolley played. He came back a second time. A bit arrogant to forget the first person.

The Gig on the Tonight Show must have been one of the last times that someone was actually discovered, by accident ? You just don't hear about thing's happening like that any longer ! This guy must be an, " Old Soul ", as even back on Carson, he seemed comfortable in his own skin ! This is just magical ! And now, sadly Time has too, taken it's toll ! Surely miss Johnny ! But what a story to tell ! Wow ! 👍😉

It would've been classy to have mentioned her. It was probably a bigger event in her life than his life even though it's springboarded his career

Strange that he didn't mention there were 2 of them that played from the audience . There was a woman who came down and met Johnny first , she also played first , and they both sat in the guest chairs and spoke with Johnny . I also saw David when he went on the 2nd time . I thought it was odd he left out the fact that a woman also played that night . David was more accomplished for sure but she was good .

It is possible that he just didn’t remember the lady. He did at one point mention that his memory of the night was not very good. That it was kind of a blur.

Loved this David. I'm David as well. David Robinson. I guess you really didn't have time to tell the whole Tonight Show story, that you weren't the only one that Johnny called down if you recall. Mary Jo Manilla, if I'm spelling her last name correctly. She was very good as well. I wonder whatever happened to her.
@danstevenson66122 жыл бұрын
Thank for mentioning Mary Jo Manilla! She was not quite the piano player that David was, but I absolutely love that she came down from the audience to play. She did a great job with the Christmas song Silver Bells, and like David she added a bit of humor to the music.
