​@Susannah472 he is definitely one of them. There are a few others such as Leonard Ravenhill, J.C. Ryles. I'm 63 and learned of D.W. from his book cross and the switchblade read that at least twice. Run baby Run you should read. Nicky Cruze story the one that David witnessed to in Cross and the Switchblade. Excellent!

Pastor David Wilkerson understood he was teaching the love and mercy, the power & majesty of Creator God to a feral people dressed in nice clothes next to the naked addicts. Dichotomy of a rich people with rotting teeth. Teaching etiquette and indoor manners to an undisciplined generation. We lost the gifts of discipline in these generations. Good discipline creates a kind ppl. Good discipline causes gentle reactions to the result of long term sin & iniquity of a lawless untaught child. These men understood what good men know, they cannot do anything apart from the love of Christ.
