So peaceful to watch. Yesterday I had at least 20 people around my bar consistently and what felt like a million tickets building up while working solo. Don't know why I was scheduled solo on my 2nd week bartending lol. Had a blast though :)

I do like the fact that a lot of your bartending is very parallel with the majority of what people do bartending and not to formal and Boujee… but I do have one critique and that is how have you bartended for this long and especially for rich clientele by getting away with cupping your hand around the top of a glass and letting the ice hit your hand in order to funnel it into the glass and also grabbing straws from the top where people put their mouth…? besides those two things which are a pretty big deal I really did enjoy your videos and I like your movement behind the bar.

Yes sorry but the sprits used in the drinks were not high end, as such as where I work we reusing for a base drinks always well known brands. Vodka Martini should have a vermouth added otherwise is just a large vodka shot in a fancy glass. Still everything is clean the way you work so great job on that !!

I don't mean to criticize but at 9:11 you had stated the cocktail was a Vodka Martini. From what I saw you just poured Stoli Vodka into a mixing glass, chilled, and served up in a martini glass with three olives. I was expecting a splash or a small ratio of vermouth, unless the ticket you received stated, absolute dry served up. Correct me if I'm wrong of course.

A classic vodka martini “should” have a very small amount of dry vermouth. Like .5 oz. Gin martinis call for way more. Like 1 oz. But Martinis are one of the most customizable cocktails and it all depends on what the guest wants!

@@jtroozy I agree with you but, when you write vodka-martini, you have to use also a white vermouth. Also when you male a "in&out" version you have to use white vermouth to "wash" the ice 😊

I like the movement and the quickness, I think you're doing alright. My only recommendation if I may is alway prep the glass first so the drink doesn't sit too much in the mixing glass, especially on a negroni or old fashioned. Other than that, really crisp. Keep up the good work
@bloodhound989
@bloodhound989 Жыл бұрын
I was taught that when shaking and and stirring put the glass lastly so ice (cube or normal ice) doesnt melt while you stir or shake (if it was busy, like 7-8 cocktail at the same time then we had them usually ready). So pretty much the same as this bartender. Example that ice melts itself in mixing glass if you dont stir it too much before taking the glass. I usually did it that i didint stir at all when I prepped glass and did lemon peel while drink was in mixing glass and after that finished stirring so old fashoined/negroni/other drink doesnt go too watery :) so i guess its about the style and how you were taught. Most important is that its not too much stirred. Although i understand this style what you recommended also but i thought to give an idea why I did also it like this bartender :) Sorry for my english its not my first language hope you understand this haha :D

Nice to watch the process of your drinks, here are some ways you could be even better than you already are...Get your glassware ready before you make your drink, that way, when you have lots of tickets come up, you won't ever get confused and it will help you to stay organized. For an old fashioned, put the sugar cube in first, then use either 5ml of hot water to dissolve the cube, or, use 5ml of soda water to dissolve the cube, and then add the bitters and bourbon/rye - sugar and alcohol don't like to dissolve with each other straight up. Rinse your mixing glass after each use, I see lots of bartenders leave their tins in the sink, but it makes them look sloppy, and if you get in the habit of resetting each time, it will ultimately make you faster in the long run. if you put speed pours on your cheater bottles and use nipples to seal them at the end of the shift, it will make you faster.

I’m not a bartender so I was kinda flabbergasted at a lot of the things in this vid, the thing that was the most intriguing was the vacuum on the bar. Is it a vacuum? It sounded like it was sucking; I assume it is to suck whatever was out of the cup, but I could be totally off. Love the vid man!
