Mmm-mmm. Yessir-ee. That's camp bread for sure. Add about a handful of sunflower seeds in there, and it gives it a bit more.

Looked like a beautiful day, and some delicious biscuit. Needed honey or jam or something! Can't wait to get my carbon skillet, already ordered. I've made bread and biscuits and stuff over the fire for decades, even better if you can catch wild berries before the animals get them all.

Youre right, it is quite a skill, takes a little longer but is eaier , imo, packing ingredients vs packaged stuff.

My granny would make skillet bread instead of biscuits when pressed for time. No shortening. No sugar. All purpose flour Baking powder Salt Water to make a loaf Cooked on the stove top like a big oversized thick pancake. I still make it every now and then Sorta like what the northern folks call bannock

You can mix this all up in a zip lock bag ... Slowly kneading adding water... Way less mess.. but looks real good .... Think I'd have melted butter on it 😁

I was with you until egg yolk sopping. Took me back to 1948 or 49 South AL when I was 5 or 6. I always ate breakfast with Dad. Until he got a soft boiled egg on toast and that runny yolk appeared. I was gone as fast as my little legs would take me.

Oh man what you said about precooked camp food is soo accurate for me. I just finished Elk camp a few weeks ago and that all these dudes ate was vacuum packed food made at home. While that food is tasty and easy to make and clean up after it just had no .......soul and felt out of place with long term hunting up here in the Cascade mountains. Thanks again Dave. PS make bigger shit for the bigger guys!!!

Hey Dave. It's good to see you going back to your grass roots. You're starting to wear traditional clothing again. Back in 2020, you wore T-shirts, Black ball cap, synthetic clothing and your content switched to more modern gear. No offense, but you were like a fish-out-of-water. I refer to that time as "Black hat Dave". I pretty much stopped watching your new videos. I'll watch a little bit here and there, but I enjoyed your pre-2020 videos. It's good to see you out of that Black cap and in a more traditional hat.
