Dave Casler is a super great guy and a good, patient teacher! I know because he is my big brother! I enjoy watching him "do his thing" for all of you ham-mers. I grew up hearing him talking to people world-wide late into the night. To this day, I can remember his old call number..."Whiskey bravo 6-golf bravo tango". Great memories!

Great video! I love the raspberry pi, I still have the first model I pre ordered when they first announced it. It’s a great little machine, don’t be afraid of Linux it’s a great OS. It’s great to see Hams embracing technology like the Pi, there is a lot that can be done with it.

Amazing! Today I use the Raspberry PI for almost everything in my rig. This image release makes easy by having all software already installed. Thanks and 73 de PY1ZB!

I love Raspberry Pis while I am coming a 3d printing and general technology background over to ham radio. I am seeing I have even more excuses to buy them. They can handle low overhead tasks with such a small form factor and efficiency that they will fit almost any where... Can't wait to try them out here as well.

I have been active on FT8 for over 3 years. Bought a IC-7300 a year back and just received the HamPi and the 4B 8G Raspberry Pi. Connected USB configured FT8 out of the box and within 5 minutes had my first QSO. Outstanding, simple very cost effective way to get active on WSJTX, WSPR and other digital modes. G4PEY.

Thanks for the video. Going to give this a shot. The README text should mention the minimum 16GB card requirement, preferably near the start. I seem to be awash in 8GB for some reason.

In linux, you should be able to install new versions of software by simply running the update procedure for the raspberry pi. I believe that Raspian (The Pi OS) is debian based. In this case, run sudo apt update. After this completes run sudo apt upgrade. This should update the versions. You may need to add repositories for each of these programs, but this is much easier and safer than burning a new image each time you need to update.
