I fucking love this series so much, must have watched it all 4 times already. Just the scale of the unnatural ramping up and the in effected world continuing to run as if it was normal. I know it's been some time so I presume this series has been dropped but if you ever start this one up again maybe have the next one be the news being bad but all the reactions are suppressed; like they are being paid to keep calm and collected. Just to Juxtapose the ramped up craziness of each episode

There's some science behind this. The 'standard American accent' (which I suppose is the Midwest, as opposed to Brooklyn or a southern twang) is about as neutral as it gets, which is why everyone sings with an American accent unless making a conscious effort not to. To an English speaker, the accent comes very naturally. (I'm not entirely clear so you might want to look it up for a better explanation) Of course, I'm sure it helps that we're surrounded by the accent in our media 24/7 :)

lxjoe96 we arent surrounded by southern accents which is the dialect that study youre referring to is about. I have a thick southern draw and everyone acts like im some alien on the west coast. But that isnt the only theory behind this phenomenon, there are many singers who keep their british accent when singing. You have to remember the "british invasion" of the late 50s and 60s into mainstream music was influenced by american blues, mainly black southerners. The beatles mimicked southern accents on many songs. It could be that Americans dominated main stream music of the west for a while. Also english nouns when stretched out sound the same regardless of dialect. You could imagine any human saying "ooooooh" for a long time, will all sound like the letter "o" to english listeners.
