Back when this album came out I was working in a restaurant in Galway, Ireland. My fellow waiting staff played it incessantly. At the time I was young and a music snob and recoiled against anything that was then currently popular. Although for popular modern music I didn't think David Gray was terrible. However, because he was popular I couldn't properly open my ears to what I have over the past few years come to appreciate is one of the best popular music albums of all time. It is an exquisite work of aural beauty. As a lover of Soul music this album just oozes raw emotion. It is perfection.

Going to see David Saturday July 16 2022 in Cleveland OH. Beyond excited. Tremendous writer, musician, vocalist. Bought this album 20 years ago or so..... now I have 2 kids and turned 50. What a ride

David gray was one of the things i got into a few months ago. It really helped me through a very depressing and difficult time. My grandma died in November and we were really close and this really helped me out.

Heard this in the grocery store today, it's probably been 20 years and it doesn't feel like it's been anything close to that long.

When this album was released I was travelling around Africa on business… my first day at the office in Nigeria I had just made a cup of tea and was walking back to my office when out of nowhere this beautiful South African girl with jet black hair and the most piercing blue eyes stopped in front of me and smiled… as I looked at her my whole body tingled… felt like lightning running through my veins…this song always takes me back to that day and the fun we had in the weeks to come….

It doesn't matter which relationship I've been in whether it's been going good or bad I've always turned to David Gray mainly to be honest through bad times just gives me that strength I need to blare out the tunes and think is it Really worth the heart ache...... No...

Such a beautiful song. The lyrics are so personal to me. For one fantastic moment I was the happiest person in the world. It's gone now but this song brings it back. THANK YOU DAVID X

I agree that this song is beautiful indeed. I still remember listening to a thiry-second preview of it in MusicMatch Jukebox on my HP Pavilion 710 CTO PC (which I used to have) back in 2002.
