Today my mum and I try the famous stinky tofu in Taiwan! Is it as bad as many people make it out to be? Along with trying stinky tofu, we explore rural Taiwan and a bit Taiwan's second largest city, Taichung.

I was born in Vietnam during the VN war, growing up in a poor village, I ate all kinds of weird things like snakes, crickets, rats, worms, etc and different stinky sauce. But, I still can't eat stinky tofu. So, kudos to you, David. You're a brave kid. You can adapt anywhere.

David, the nut that u thought was starchy is not hazel nut they are Chestnuts.......very expensive here .......they are $ 7- $ 9 USD Per pound. So happy u r spending time with your family

The small town in Taiwan brought up the memories in VN the time I growing up. My husband and I went to Taiwan years ago. The people are very nice and the city is clean, even the public toilets. I also think the foods over there are less sodium than.. You are such a good son 👍

Tried stinky tofu in Taichung, Taipei, Kiaoshung but I couldn't fall in love with. You better try ' beef noodles / my bo " in Taichung, I can tell that the best of the best. Never had a chance exploring rural areas, looks vibe and chill.

Nah brah! Me and my friends tried stinky tofu at a restaurant here in Cali and it’s gross! The smell, taste, texture, everything was so nasty. One of my friend threw up. This coming from people who eat shrimp paste, fish sauce, fermented fish sauce, and other crazy foods. I will never eat stinky tofu again.

David , you described it well. The after taste of stinky tofu is weird. Anyway, it’s one of my favourite food, they are addictive but I tried not to have it too often as they are very unhealthy . almost all cooked Chinese food has msg except for our own mom’s recipes…. But who would want to add msg in beverage though😂? I just realised it was meant to be a joke.

Maybe you have to turn on the ignition on before the window will roll up. Pull out the key and all power is shut off to the windows etc.
