Thanks for your video and thorough explanations. I enjoyed it and it brought back some very old memories. I rarely used a file to clean points but when I did I’d put the file in place, let the points close and drag the file out with spring pressure on to ensure both surfaces were as flat and matched as possible. I drove Pontiacs and Buicks so GM’s forward thinking points set up was so easy. Only gapped one Ford Mustang my good friend owned at least 55 years ago. And of course when he finished bumping the starter to align the high point on the distributor cam lobe I went to work with the feeler gauges. You guessed it, my good buddy turned the ignition on. I tried to put a big dent in his hood with my head. Good buddy!!!!
